Edit: she is an Omaha native. Coached a year at Millard North as well (believe that is Caitlin Mahoney's high school?)

Obviously, I think we would be insane to let her go and from her standpoint, I think it's pretty neat to build your own legacy -which she would be doing here. Going to NE and doing anything but winning championships will not be acceptable. I've got to think that the environment is better at ISU - much less stress and pressure, great place to raise a family. But NE is her alma mater and she's obviously still very much loved there.
What do ISU fans think? This is nothing more than Nebby fans upset because they lost to KSU. A lot can happen between now and 2016 and who even knows if Tommy O will still be around. It would be different if she were already there was named the coach in waiting, but she doesn't even coach there, so it makes it hard to believe there is a "secret" deal in place.

It's definitely popped up a lot in the last couple days, but it's definitely not the first time I've heard it in my months of lurking.

All you had to do was see the meltdown on Twitter and other social media sites to realize this was going to start up. Just like every time a football team in Eastern Iowa loses and they are calling for their coaches head.

Re: CJL to NE?
If she turned down the Nebraska job, I would be so proud. It would show me that her home is Iowa State and that she is a Cyclone, like Bill F.
(i hope CJL reads CF to show her that we love her and we want her to stay)

I hope it's just a bunch of ******-off fans. I guess I feel there's just enough truth in it to give it weight.

I had no idea Cook was leaving Nebraska. I doubt that he leaves any time soon.

Re: CJL to NE?
There is only one way to keep a coach as talented as CJL, go to matches. If our attendance gets good enough she won't ever need to go anywhere. It certainly isn't bad now, but it needs to keep matching the quality of the program.

Re: CJL to NE?
CJL and Joe are very happy here, and are well compensated for what they do. She can bring in top 10 classes every year with no trouble now. All you have to do is look at the class coming in for 2012, it's loaded. Ames is 1/2 way with her family from NE, and 1/2 to his family in WI. She and JP have a history from their time at Wisconsin, so that doesn't hurt either. She has a group of assistants that really complement her and are all from the Midwest. I feel pretty good she is here for the long haul.

How do our facilities compare to other top 10 programs?

Several of the B12 schools have old arenas that have become volleyball facilities. Texas, OU, KSU, KU all have their own facilities. They typically seat about 5000 people and are more intimate than Hilton. They got brand new offices and locker rooms at Hilton when BB moved to their own facility. Had they done the addition at Hilton they were talking about doing at one time, she would have her own facility.
CJL has said that adding the curtain and making Hilton smaller had helped the atmosphere and teams are intimidated by our crowds.

Re: CJL to NE?
Need to get that volleyball facility going. A place for them to play and practice and no floods to worry about. It could also be used for wrestling duals.
If the day comes NU is looking for a coach, and we have done nothing towards a VB facility, I would not blame her.
