I thought CJL really got this team off the ground with some great blocking back in 07-08ish before we had the athletes to compete with everyone. I could be mistaken though.

We haven't had good blocking since I've been following which has really been the last 4 years.

That is the difference between us and the elite teams IMO.

good match, just couldn't get over some hurdles. Agree, the blocking needs improvement. There is no shame in losing to FSU though, but a win would obviously been better.

Remember, it's the second match. We didn't play the best, but I still think we have a good chance at the final 4 and maybe national championship. Yes, we're not over the hump, but we were only 5 points away today and the elite 8 match, so the hump is really small for us.

We could make the Final 4, but that is a stretch without the blocking as I mentioned. It is exactly what the elite teams have over us. Without it, it will take alot of luck to get beyond the elite 8 ever.

That's true, do you think we will get better at blocking as the season goes on with the new middle blocker coach? Maybe Tory Knuth will play more cuz she showed a little that she could block.

Looks like the team pretty much were worn down by that match with FSU. UT wins close second set, ISU wins 3rd, drops behind big in 4th, fight back but lose it. In the 5th set they pretty much fall apart including back-to-back aces to finish it 4-15.

This thing was obviously set up to favor the SEC teams. UT and FSU played Friday night, while ISU had to play them both Sat. Our OH's were getting blocked, while there's was having a career night. I think the legs gave OU a bit starting in the 4th set.
