ISU vs KSU Tonight
If you haven't seen already the match is on channel 623 if you have Directv. We need a better start and hopefully a better outcome than we had against KU on the road.

Really hoping for our ladies to come out with a strong showing tonight.
So who is gonna come up with a free online stream for me? -

There is free audio but no free video. Cyclones.com has the blog. www.kstatesports.com/allaccess/ -
Re: ISU vs KSU Tonight
Looks like another rough night on the road... Lost set 1 15-25...not passing well.

Re: ISU vs KSU Tonight
We got swept. Didn't really see that coming. 25-15, 27-25, 25-17. Which, is really bad when you consider the score in the 3rd set was tied at 13. This team kind of gave up in the 3rd. You could see it. Christy has her hands full. I don't know where the motivation is going to come from from here on? This team is playing really young, and they have no confidence. That was the danger of the tough schedule with 7 freshmen. They're freshmen. It's frustrating because there isn't leadership coming from anywhere. I don't get it. Their coaches had a player in front of most sets. We're predictable. I hope we figure out we can't impose our way of playing on opponents.

All kinds of bad tonight. Swept at KSU. This signature has received the stamp of disapproval from that one guy. -
Re: ISU vs KSU Tonight
Was really worried we wouldn't win this, but was hoping we'd at least take a set. KSU is ranked well above us and we haven't played to the level it would take to beat them since Nebraska. And that game is looking more and more like an anomaly. We do have a few freshmen starting, but we are not getting the numbers and leadership from our more experienced players on a consistent basis- Straube, Hock, Hahn, Landwehr, Matlock. Shaping up to be a rough year :(

Re: ISU vs KSU Tonight
It was really hard to watch. I know I get negative, but it's because I care about it. Bigbee is too good an athlete to hit -.332 with only 1 kill. Malloy never played, I didn't know if she was hurt or what? The Knuth sisters had fire, at least. I like that, but the positives were pretty limited. This should not be a team flirting with an overall record of .500.
It just seemed like KSU's coaches did a really good job scouting us and taking things away. That, and we handled serve really poorly, Ludwig just killed us.

Malloy hasn't played much the last few games, I think. Bigbee got pulled pretty quickly. Taylor had a really nice night, glad to see that.

Re: ISU vs KSU Tonight
well outside of texas, KSU KU & possibly OU will be our toughest tests (as we found out) but at least we got some road games out of the way...I think this squad will improve over the season and hopefully will get a decent seed in the tourney.
Bigbee gets benched..ouch. Some good play from the Knuths lately though...building depth.

Re: ISU vs KSU Tonight
Malloy hasn't played because if she were to go in, she would play outside, mostly likely going in for Hock. But Hock is a senior and suppose to have that senior leadership. It's easier to take out a freshman who's playing bad than a senior.

Rachel learned a lot in the back playing when her knee was hurt, and she is good there. Nolan is struggling on defense, Hahn and Hudson, too. Hudson has to know learn to know where the line is, she wants to play everything. We miss the serving of the seniors on last year's team, too.

Re: ISU vs KSU Tonight
Last years senior just had that attitude. They wanted to win, they believed they were gonna win and they won; even if they were down 11-5 @ baylor in the 5th set they still won(they still lost against texas but still). This years seniors just don't have that, to me, they look very unsure.

You have years of success as a program, and the younger players come in and think they don't have to work as hard. That's not what got us here. We need to really get after it. I believe we have the athletes.

We haven't been able to get a clear picture of exactly why certain things are not working (you can argue this, that, or the other for just about every problem), but it's clear things need to be sorted out.
Two years ago the chemistry was off and the team was up and down all season, culminating in that awful NCAA 1st round loss to Creighton in Minneapolis. There is much room for improvement and the talent to make it happen. But will it happen and on a consistent basis? We know they can beat good teams (Nebraska). We know they can lose to bad teams (Syracuse). What we don't know is why the wild swings. The clock is running on this season. Time to figure it out.
All people who make sweepingly generalized, stupid, uninformed comments are idiots. (maybe)
