End of the season inspirational thread.
I thought I might start a thread for the specific purpose of cheering the team on to a good season ending. I think this team has great potential and I am looking for some great things to happen. I am impressed with Coach and the way she brings the team along. I liked how we played some tough teams in the beginning of the year. I believe the program is ready for that, and it will help us in the long run. Volleyball is like soccer, it takes some luck as well as good play. I wish them all of both.

Reason: I would like to finish this thread, I had no intention of making two.

Re: End of the season inspirational thread.
There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams -

The coach said the crowd was fantastic at this one, watch out K-State and Texas. Obviously they already know what they are getting into.

I honestly cannot understand more enthusiasm about this volleyball team. 1. Volleyball is an interesting game involving much strategy. 2. We have a coach that is an expert strategist. 3. Women athletes that are high level volleyball players are amazing athletes. 4. Iowa State is a team that could go a long way, with luck and plenty of support. 5. I have been interested in Iowa State athletics for a long time, and just recently got interested in volleyball through watching high-schools. This team is history in the making, get with it people!

Volleyball is a tough sell in the beginning, because most of us aren't used to watching it. Once people go and watch a match in Hilton, they are sold forever (normally).
It's just a matter of growing things. Keep attending, keep discussing, and people keep seeing that. It brings exposure one step at a time.

I know I was hooked when I saw that we were playing on tv against Texas in the elite eight in 2008

Re: End of the season inspirational thread.
I've purchased season tickets each of the last 3 years as I think their only $60 each, only made a few this year, but always fun and exciting with great athletes.
Iowa has allot of great VB players as TX has a soph starting from Waterloo and think Dike along with Cedar Falls (as well as a few other Iowa Schools) have D1 VB athletes with offers.
I feel the next facility growth at ISU is a VB complex as several of the great VB programs have done.

Re: End of the season inspirational thread.
Volleyball is a growing sport in the US. I think of our town here, the coaches don't even know how to coach, except finally, the new coach is starting to get the kids to serve. I have learned everything I know from ISU, the past few years.

The game is coming up in 1.5 hours. The football game in just a half hour. I am wondering how nervous these kids must be. I wonder if the coach cracks jokes to keep them from getting too nervous. I wish I could hear some of those jokes.

This is the first step in the journey, a good win for the Cyclones today at Oklahoma. Malloy continues to get better and we have a strong showing against a decent team. Next up is K-State, and I can't watch it. I continue to complain about this. It hurts to have this schedule that I have to miss these televised volleyball matches.

Very good win, Oklahoma has a higher rpi so this should move us up.

Re: End of the season inspirational thread.
2 days, 39 minutes and 20 seconds to game time against K-state. It will be at 5 oclock which will make it virtually impossible for me to watch any of it. I am bitter. Can they win without me? I expect they can. That is depressing to be so absolutely useless.

This Kstate match is huge for RPI and tourney implications...We took care of Kansas at Hilton hopefully we can do the same with Purple Kansas. I think the loss in Manhattan was a turning point for this team...we are playing much better ball now.
