Heckling during womens sports (especially volleyball) is bush-league. Men's sports are fair-game but womens sports in general there is no place (IMO) for heckling.

During the Texas match, there was a student who came around from the 132/133 sections, and crouched behind the UT bench for a little while, before staff kinda ran him off.
Couldn't really him say anything over the top, but I found that rather out of line.
All season, I've been across from the student side. Haven't heard anything that I would think is all that bad. But can't hear much either.

Re: Volleyball IQ
Heckling? Depends what's being said in my book. My fear is that things can get pretty tasteless, pretty easily when dealing with women. Sexist comments can come out all too easily. But I don't have a problem overall with it. Destinee Hooker has to be about the cockiest player I've ever seen on the court. And Faucette had a mouth that made me cringe a bit. Giving them the business really didn't bother me.
And even we laid into that coach pretty well. That guy was a jack-arse of the highest order. I really thought his head was going to pop off in that match.
What a change. Mick Haley - former UT coach - has to be about the nicest person I've ever met in collegiate volleyball.

Re: Volleyball IQ
I am all for making Hilton as uncomfortable as possible for any opposing team in any sport. As long as it is clean and above the belt I say give 'em hell.

I heckle and yell and distract the other team as much as humanly possible, but I never yell anything I wouldn't yell with my mother standing next to me. My goal in heckling is NEVER to insult or degrade the other team on a personal level. Racism and sexism are just as unacceptable at a sporting event as everywhere else on the planet. If you make the people around you laugh with your comments, you're doing well. If you make the players that you're heckling laugh, then you're doing GREAT! I hope everyone takes the same approach. Never stop making noise, but remain at all times the classiest of Cyclones.

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

I've been in their shoes many of times in baseball and basketball so I know how much it sucks, but they should do a better job.
