Johnson-Lynch Named AVCA Central Region Coach of the Year
AMES, Iowa – Add AVCA Central Region Coach of the Year to the list of honors for fifth-year Iowa State head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch. The head coach was rewarded today for the Cyclones’ record-setting season today by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Johnson-Lynch has guided her team to its best season in school history with a 27-4 overall record and a Big 12 record of 17-3, good for second-place in the conference standings. Setting school records for wins in a season in both overall and conference victories, Johnson-Lynch has led Iowa State to its best national ranking in the program’s history, coming in at No. 5 in the AVCA Division I Coaches Top-25 Poll.
