That is going to be one hostile environment!
All 1500 season tickets have been sold and there are 500 seats saved for lil clone club members and students on first come first serve basis.
No single seats will be sold be Nebraska, UNI, or Texas.
Re: Volleyball Season Tix Sold Out
Great news. I was kinda wanting to take my nieces to that Texas match however.
Re: Volleyball Season Tix Sold Out
Students and band will be at floor level in front of the curtain that divides the main gym from the aux gym. I think there will be small portable bleachers brought in.
Re: Volleyball Season Tix Sold Out
Do any colleges have volleyball only stadiums? Not that I think ISU needs one, but it would be cool to have that type of atmosphere.

Off the top of my head, Nebraska and Penn State do I believe. I'm sure there are a lot more.

Texas A&M has one. If somebody gives me a lottery ticket and I win 9 figures ISU will have one too. Well, technically wrestling will have one but volleyball can use it too.

Virtually all of the big VB schools do. Off the top of my head, the only VB powers who play in the basketball arena like ISU are: Stanford, Florida, and Washington.
The biggest thing with me is the floor - we simply put VB lines down on the HIlton bb floor - it looks tacky. Please get an exclusive VB-only court so that it looks big-league.

It's official - win and the fans will show up. Take note, football team...

I imagine some. But probably not a whole lot. We were up around 800-900 before they moved to Ames High and instituted the "have to have a season ticket to guarantee entry" thing.
I bet that, coupled with the ticket only being $35 probably forced alot of hands.

I agree but when there are BB and VB events at Hilton within days of each others, it may be difficult to install and store two sets of floors in a short period of time.
If the AHS venue experience is a good one, maybe it will help trigger construction of VB practice/competition facility with around 3K seats, maybe in West Ames near the BB practice facility. A facility like that could also be extensively used for summer BB and VB tournaments as well as camps.
Re: Volleyball Season Tix Sold Out
Looking back, it sure would have been nice to have rehabbed the Armory for VB and wrestling. Back then, however, it looked like wreslting could nearly fill Hilton for key dates and nobody knew they played volleyball. In the early eighties, VB had a coach that was younger than some of he players! She turned into a Hall-of-Fame type coach, but it was blind luck on ISU's part that she was even here.
