ISU WBB (temporarily) holds the record...
...for most consecutive games with a three.
Matt Shoultz in the athletics communication department discovered that the streak was at 484 heading into the season, not the 483 previously assumed. That put ISU at one game behind Canisius at 485. Since ISU has played 6 games and Canisius 4, ISU now leads 490-489.
Assuming both teams keep the streak alive throughout the season...
-- Canisius will draw even at 490 in tonight's game. From here until the conference tournaments Canisius will be between 0 and 2 games ahead of ISU.
-- Canisius will hit 500 on 1/10/11. Iowa State will hit 500 one day later on 1/11/11 at home vs Nebraska.
-- If both teams play the minimum number of games (1 conf tourney game, no postseason) they will end the season tied at 515. Therefore the leader at the end of the season will be the team that plays the most conference/postseason tournament games.

The Twister Sisters and Coach Fen have been closing this gap with their tournament runs for several years. Just a few years ago it appeared the only way they would overtake CC was if their streak ended. Now with a good tourney run this year they could potentially take over the streak for the foreseeable future.
Of course it only takes one ice cold shooting game...

I'd be much more concerned had it been 0-for-9 with 4:00 to play.

I believe only once in the streak has ISU made only one three. In that game, I'm pretty sure Brittany Wilkins of all people hit a three late in the game to keep the streak alive.

This is just like my rotisseire bball fantasy team for shot blocks and steals. One minute you are ahead, then you are behind. It just goes back and forth each night. You think you have something and then a block or steal changes the point total.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Iowa State Takes Down Texas Tech, 69-65 - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports Wilkins made ISU's only three-pointer of the evening with just over four minutes to play, extending the team's consecutive games streak with a three-pointer to 327. Now THAT'S a close call.
Wilkins did go 28-76 behind the arc that season, so she actually was a pretty good perimeter shooter.

Re: ISU WBB (temporarily) holds the record...
A few notes relating to the streak:
How long has the streak gone on? It predates Fennelly's tenure. The streak was at three games when he started.
ISU was fourth for quite a while. Cleveland State's streak ended at a then-record 408 games on Feb 3rd, 2007. Stanford was briefly in first until it's own streak ended at 403 games on Feb 22nd, 2007. At that time ISU was around 360 and Canisius was around 385, which shows just how much ground ISU has gained.

So where does the 1 or 2nd ranked active streak rank against all time longest?

UK’s 719 consecutive games with a three-pointer ranks third in the NCAA.

UNLV MBB has never had a game without a three since the inception of the three-point line. UNLV Wins Big Road Game at TCU 79-70 - Associated Content from Yahoo! - associatedcontent.com
The Runnin Rebels did keep their streak of a three point basket in every game they have ever played since the inception of the three point line, which is now 788 consecutive games with a three pointer.

No. 804 was an adventure, though (11/17/10 vs. SE Louisiana). They were 0-5 in the first half, stretched it to 0-7, and finally made their only three of the game (1-8) with 7:42 to play.
