Darcie Dick To Leave Iowa State

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State junior Darcie Dick has decided to transfer, head coach Bill Fennelly announced Thursday. Dick will finish out the semester before leaving Iowa State and returning home to Oklahoma.

"We appreciate the effort Darcie gave our program,” Fennelly said. “Our program has always focused on family first and Darcie feels the need to be closer to her home in Oklahoma."

Dick, a 5-8 guard from Bessie, Okla., has seen action in three games this season after signing with the Cyclones out of Northern Oklahoma College last spring.

That sucks, but it was apparent she wasn't going to get much playing time.

Strange to transfer out in the middle of the season. May as well play it out and then transfer.

very strange, that she just transferred in and is leaving already. Probably some thing personal.

For academic reasons wherever she's going she might want to transfer and not waste a semester up here (depending on how credits transfer).

yeah, I just think the obvious that it was a different game at a different level but she will be a better player for such.
also probably bolsters Bill's belief that next year has a lot of players he is interested in and gives him another bullet to use if desired

Maybe, but then again maybe she is someone who never should have been signed in the first place; she was not Big 12 material. We have been down this road before.
