The new RPI is out as of December 10th and after the loss to Iowa, ISU fell only one spot from #11 to #12. However, the Iowa Hawkeyes moved up to #1 in the nation in RPI, because they only have one loss and the 4th most difficult schedule in the nation. So, basically, we lost by 20 points to the #1 ranked (RPI) team and our ranking wasn't hurt much (can't say the same for our egos and confidence).
Re: New RPI out for Dec 10th, ISU falls only one spot
SOS is a huge factor at this point in the season. We'll likely win the next six games, respiratory illness or not, by wide margins and will likely go down in the RPI because their combined RPI is 183. Losing to a ranked, high RPI team should not hurt in the RPI or, much, in the rankings. If we survive the next balloting, we'll go into Baylor ranked and our RPI will climb, w/l.
