Who is going to fill her shoes next year?
When Medders graduated, I thought, well at least we still have Ezell and Wieben.
Then after Ezell and Wieben graduated, I thought, at least we still have Lacey for another year. Then after Aus left, I thought, at least we still have Bolte.
So after Bolte graduates this year, who is the player that we will say "at least _____ is returning"?

I've been pleasantly surprised, shocked even, at her ability to create her own shot this year. She doesn't seem to have the athleticism to do it, but somehow she is.

Her extremely quick release helps her get shots off, even when guarded. It appears sometimes that she catches her defender off guard when they think they have her covered and she shoots anyway.

Kelsey is a master at shotting while her defender is off balance. She never beats anyone off the dribble but she will dribble and has the knack of going up over the defender while the defender is still stepping. Kelsey has absolutely brought it this year. She is a shut down defender as well.

Kelsey shoes?

Small town girl...hard-working, big time talent. I've talked with her relatives at Hilton and they are as wonderful as Iowans can be. As I said at the start of this season, "what program would not want a Kelsey Bolte on their team?"

The U has a flyer in the game notes section. Perhaps this is the beginning of a major ad campaign. That's a part of being noticed nationally. I hesitate to join the "without help" group. It diminishes the contribution of the rest of the team. That said, Kelsey is getting more defense than would be possible if there were other big perimeter scoring threats. All perimeter players are helped by our interior presence.

A good if predictable question. My guess is that no single person is going to replace her or fill in your blank above. But consider that Bolte is the sole senior on the team, so, leaving the incoming frosh aside, the remaining team members, nine strong, will have to pick up the points. That would mean each one would have to contribute on average around 3 points more than they currently do. I think most of us would like to see two or three double-figure scorers next year, and that should certainly not be impossible.

she has worked so hard this off season (BF will tell you how hard if you ask him on certain nights at the Sukup) to raise her game where she can "stop and pop" and move where before she was more of a set shooter.
She will be missed and next year I think you see more TEAM and no single as we are looking at no one who does not disappear

A starter since she got to ISU, Kelsey has always been a tough defender, but often upper class(wo)men offensively. Yet many times she was drawing the best defender of the other team because the coaches understand her abilities. She is the type of player who can play heck of a game and put up the numbers, but you never realize it during the game.
