Re: IS Big 12 WBB down this year?
I first questioned BF about this 10-11 years ago on his call in show. Realizing he was very limited as to what he could say - I asked him WHO thought that this crap was good for WBB. His response was that he didn't know, and that it certainly wasn't him.

Somewhat ironically - I have officiated at the HS level for about 15 years, and the NFHS has had 'rough play' at the top of it's list for at least 8 out of the last ten years. So they are telling us to CLEAN IT UP, while the collegiate officials are being told the opposite. A huge part of it comes from the AAU ranks, where officiating is often suspect to non-existent.
Also distressing is the regression to the Marian Washington era - as displayed by Linda Lappe and her team Saturday - where you slug somebody all the way down the court, physically drag them to floor if necessary to keep them from getting position - and then you and the coach throw your arms out in disbelief when the officials have the audacity to actually call a foul.
It is not making WBB more popular! Actual attendance at ISU games is way down from 10 years ago - as opposed to the mythical 'announced' attendance that all teams use now.
