This was definitely a missed opportunity. It appeared ISU came ready to play. 18 of 19 FTs says something about their focus. Even with the bad 2nd half shooting/scoring, ISU still had a chance late in the game. That says something too. They did not give up.
All home teams prevailed on Saturday. It was win or stay home for both Texas and OSU. At least ISU gave OSU a run for it. OU didn't put up much of a fight at Texas. Outside of Baylor, you cannot use the conference standings to predict who's going to win a game this year. It is very, very specific to the situation for that game. This is going to make the conference tourney a free-for-all when Baylor's not playing. It might be more interesting to just give Baylor a bye into the championship game, and let the rest of the teams duke it out for the right to play them.
Whether you call it a bad half or a bad stretch of minutes, ISU has lost most of its games due to 3-5 minute letdowns on offense or defense. The end of the first half vs OSU unfortunately gave OSU hope for the 2nd half and they took advantage of it.
