Re: ISU has 4 recruits on Register's GBB All-State Teams.
I agree with others on here. In women's basketball there's often one team that stands above the rest. Going into the season, those that follow wbb knew Baylor was going to be tough for anyone to beat. Scary thing is they don't lose a whole lot.
To say we only have "one trick" has been proven wrong more this year compared to many years in the past. Yes, we LOVE the three. That's easy to see. But Chelsea Poppens has proved over and over again this season that she can work hard and have it pay off in the inside. Against Griner? Maybe not. Then again, who has had it work? It's a tough task. Griner is extrememly impressive, and having a supporting cast like Odyssey Sims, Destiny Williams, Kimetria Hayden, etc. makes them extra tough.
There was a quote from Fennelly last weekend, "There's not many players in women's basketball who can impact the game on both sides. Baylor has two."
I find it interesting you brought up the UConn game. They did go 39-0. We weren't the only team that struggled. Sure, we'd all love to beat teams that are at the top of the charts, but it doesn't mean we're just a pushover either.
