I've given up hope it will ever happen and have lost interest. Do you apply the same standards to the football team that gets much more support and to the men's bball team that also gets more support? If so, then perhaps you should just lose interest in all Cyclone athletics. Unbelievable the crazy comments people make in here.

I've given up hope it will ever happen and have lost interest. Wow. So you don't support any ISU programs then, huh? Because I haven't witnessed too many championship teams in any sport lately. Is that the only reason you support a team?
Look, they win. And they win consistently. But they also play in the toughest conference in wbb. Plus Bill recruits a certain type of player. And that doesn't always equate to a high level of athleticism.
We have fielded a consistent top 25-30 program which once was an absolute joke. There aren't many programs in wbb that have achieved at our level.

The program has not attracted enough talent lately. Too many players given scholarships here who cannot compete in this conference. It appears we are often whiffing on our first-choice recruits and then go to plan B.
Buckley from Mason City is a huge get - how to get more of them on her same talent level? Recruit a couple of her teammates. I'm serious. That team is loaded.

Mays...always was a project. Rumors had her transferring as far back as January.

Agree there. I've heard though that Baier kid from South Tama is highly overrated. Hope she pans out.

Re: Mays and Harris to transfer
While Mays may have been a project, we knew that, and I personally liked her size and strength. She had a big 12 body. People said Pop was a project, and look what BF & co did with her.
Harris, really like her, but as others have said, without her killer shot she had in high school, probably not going to see the court much.

The big difference between her and Pop though are attitude. She may have had the potential physically, but her mindset and attitude were never going to get her to Big 12 level play. Pop got to where she is with her work ethic, motivation, and determination. It was extremely evident during games from her body language that Kileah never wanted to be there. She just sat on the bench the whole time looking bored and never cheered on her teammates. In my opinion Coach Fen and staff made the right decision in letting Kileah go.

I hope this means Ellis isn't going anywhere. I think she has real potential. I too think Ellis could be all Big 12 if she keeps at it. Seems like a good year for one post to redshirt, because unless Hallie goes to the 3 more, we are pretty full in 4-5 minutes. I wonder if there is a true wing out there, because we only have Brynn in between the smalls and the bigs.
I think Harris wasn't that far away from more minutes, but I'm sure starting for some small warm-weather college would seem a lot easier path. Who knows. Mays did have that one good game, but she was buried beneath so much talent ahead of her. Hope we have a surprise JC/international player popping up on the radar.

Re: Mays and Harris to transfer
Will our front court be athletic enough with Pop gone?
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Mays and Harris to transfer
Mays was a project, as others have pointed out, and Harris was just not quick enough either to create her own shot or to play tough defense. We will have three promising guards coming in the next two years: Bingley, Blaskowski, and Buckley. These three Bs will, if they are as good as advertised, sting the opponents (sorry--couldn't resist the bad joke), but next year the first two will be facing a steep learning curve as frosh always do, and Nicki will be only a soph. As a result, my guess is that BF will turn to the juco ranks for more immediate help at guard.
