The qoute was somethine like - Sims and the Tennessee player get into an altercation and then griner gets ejected for coming off the bench and just trying to keep the peace!

    Griner TOTALLY got away with a flagrant elbow tonight. Anna P got called for 2 this year and Griner is clean. give me a break.

    I said some Basketball purists believe they play better fundamental Basketball...

    Never said Women were better players...

    I know in you brief 21 year old life you have watched a lot of the Basketball greats.

    Maybe go back and watch some again like Cousy, West, Havlicek, Robertson. Then tell me how Athletic they look compared to today's player...

    You obviously haven't watched her play. I was at the Big 12 tourney and at the Well Sat and tonight. She is one seriously gifted player. Very athletic. Sweet shot. The 6' 8" is a bonus.

    WRONG - This kid can flat out play. I thought she was over hyped too but after watching her play i person this weekend there is some serious banging going on down low. These girls are physical, pushing pulling and scratching biting clawing etc. If you look at her shot it's pretty darn good. If she continues to play, learn and improve she will be the best player to play the game at her level. She is the modern dat Wilt the Stilt

    You cant coach height. Just an advantage, like leaping ability.

    Re: Baylor - suspensions

    I was at the game and that little incident at the end was mostly emotions running high. In the first half the refs swallowed their whistles and let the game be a little more physical than it should have then in the 2nd half they were calling everything. I know some aren't Griner fans but I bet you that any women's player in the country does not get as many non-calls going her way purely because every team is so out-matched with her size the only way to contain her is to get physical till they call it consistently. I'm surprised she hasn't gotten into some more fights because if this was a men's game and our top post player was getting pushed on and tangled up all night people would have been calling bloody murder sometimes.

    I was sitting next to the TU fans, same attitude different color shirt. TU players were doing the same don't kid yourself. It was hilarious during the review how Pat was saying the TU player was just trying to help her up, I don't think so. How come there is no mention of the TU players leaving their bench also?

    Anyone arguing that women's basketball is more fun to watch than mens basketball needs to take a heavy dose of their medicine. I don't think anyone in here is claiming that though so good job folks.

    Perhaps they are already on a heavy dose of medication.

    The TU player (Stricklin) is quoted in the paper as saying that she was just trying to help her up, but the BU player (Sims) took it the wrong way. Sims wouldn't comment to reporters.

    It did take a rediculous ammount of time to sort it out. However, I want the Big 12 to do well so I will hope Baylor wins it all. While we all have our beefs with certain teams in the conference, we should also be glad to see teams from what has been a pretty unstable conference the past 2 years do well in postseason play to show the country that the Big 12 is still one of the most competitive conferences in the country.

    And I don't think Griner gets away with murder, she's physically so much bigger than anyone on the court it looks awkward and if anything I think any team defending her gets away with a lot more physical play on defense than most would against your average player just because she is so big. I'm surprised we haven't seen more of this:

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtaPtQnu370]Brittney Griner Punches Jordan Barncastle - YouTube[/ame]

    I thought that GA Tech was even more physical with her than UT was last night and even the Hawkeye fan sitting right behind me pointed out some of the cheap shots Griner took when she was trying to get position and he didn't even have a horse in the race last night he was cheering for.
