Re: news on may day
that is a surprise. guessing he wanted to be closer to family. i wonder if BF and co had to approve this, because I wonder if there would be a conference non-compete in a contract.

Re: news on may day
If the decision for Easley to go was actually BF's, then there shouldn't be any problem. I guess this was the case, otherwise, BF wouldn't let him go to Okie State

Why would Bill refuse to let Jack go back to Okie State, especially after what happened to their program in the last six months? Sometimes this kind of pettiness can sully your name in coaching circles.
Besides, didn't KJ Kindler go right from Iowa State to OU? Why didn't JP stop her? That was a much bigger deal than Easley going back to Okie State. Kindler was ISU head coach, had no ties to OU and was even an ISU competitor and assistant coach.

"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr -
Re: news on may day
Unlike athletes, I don't think you can do anything to keep someone from going to a competitor as a coach.

Re: news on may day
Associate Head Coach here to Director of Player Development there. Doesn't even seem like a lateral move to me unless there is more that is not being said.

Still think there's more here. Most job changes where someone is hunting a different job, the new job gets announced at the same time as the departure. We'll never know obviously, I just hate the BS that gets handed out as the "TRUTH" in the sports coaching world. Almost as bad as politics.

I'm confused, why would you think when someone is let go that that would only take a better position than the one they lost? Perhaps one that pays less and has easier hours/less travel is a good choice for someone approaching retirement age?
Congrats to Coach Jack, I hope you enjoy your new position! And also to Coach Kelsey, good luck every game but one next season. Your new boss just rose about six steps in most of our estimations, I'm sure.

Re: news on may day
Well OSU def. will know how to attack ISU next year.

Re: news on may day
Losing Jack hurts us some. Losing him to OK State makes it worse. Going to need a really good hire if we are to wind up better than before he left.

Re: news on may day
The Bolte hire surprised me somewhat considering she has little to no experience as anything but a player.
