Greenfield went for the big change of scenery in the Golden State. I can't believe it wasn't just for the Stanford tradition as much as the climate and culture. Same with Minnesota's Trapp going to UCLA. Dahlman is down to us, Vandy and the Gators. The trend would have Florida being Dahlman's choice and maybe her folks would like to get away in winter to the Gulf.
The SEC is good but if you want to play in the best conference the Big XII is where WBB lives. By the way the attendance is poor at Florida and Rebekah wants that fan support and interaction so that is a big plus. We are south of Central Minnesota (ha), but close enough for her family to swing down often for a game. She has a tough choice, if she hasn't already made it, but we are in this. I will not be surprised if she heads to Florida though.
Hopefully Samantha Logic's move to buck the trend of top tier H.S. talent heading for sunshine was one good thing out her going to Iowa.

Florida has some recent success in WBB but nothing earth shaking and usually in front of a few thousand fans if that. -

That's disturbing, but we'll keep the faith. I would think high profile recruits would have the passion to play in front of 10,000+ fans on a consistent basis if possible (not to mention a highly successful program yearly). When they chose differently, I don't get it!!!!!!!

Re: Rebekah Dahlman
Eh. Someone asked her if she was in Florida. She said she was, and added Go Gators. Makes sense since she was going to be going to the Florida football game. Nothing worth over-analyzing.

Nothing worth over-analyzing. Recruiting banter as how I mostly saw it. Florida needing immediate help at guard play, having a good guard coach, and competing in a the SEC in the warmth of of the Gulf are all appeals that maybe concerns. Vandy has a lot to offer too starting with being in Nashville, but they seem to be with three/four underclassling point guards.
Kidd and Nikki will vie with Rebekah in the future one position and regardless of rating those are some tough competitors. For instance a while back I came across a video of Kidd in some training drills-seeingly D-1 ready condition-wise when first walking in the door at Sukup and we know she has game. Stronger - YouTube

Vandy is one of the three programs she feels comfortable with, so it wouldn't surprise me if that was her option. Vandy is a fantastic school and with immense endowments. More often than not we have a hard time attracting the very top Midwest players despite us having over twice the attendance (of Vandy), the coach of the University Games and a record of success.

Vandy is a good medical school, but their court stinks, and the benches are on the end of the court.... a real weird way to sit through games....
I thought the minfan's post was somewhat confusing, as in could be ready down to vandy (over Florida) and the Clones, or favors Vandy over both Florida and Clones.

Re: Rebekah Dahlman
It's just the impression I got when I spoke with her this past weekend. She enjoyed the visit to Iowa State and I know she likes the coach. Just seemed it is down to Florida and Vandy. Like I said she plans to announce soon.

This arrangement is a diffucult one for visiting teams and one I always thought was a cheap way to win games (Vandy wins over 85% at home). There is no NCAA rule as to bench placement. In 2009 I watched as Vandy played Tenn? at home and those benches and funky old Memorial Gym were obvious home advantage. They need good guards for this unnatural arrangement as the coaches can't yell 90 feet above the crowd noise. So guards are on their own. If that attracts a player so be it. But the place holds over 14K and only averages a measley 4k.

Re: Rebekah Dahlman
Recruiting analyst Keil Moore said Dahlman verballed Vandy today.
RT @KeilMoore: Two top 25 programs pick up verbal commitments today. This time it's Vandy going to Minn and picking up Rebekah Dahlman.

Re: Rebekah Dahlman
Between this and blowing the 2-0 VB lead @ Texas, not a great night.
