Just so everyone knows Tyrus McGee is going to class today. Just saw him riding the Cy-Ride with a backpack. Or at least I assume he's going to class.......

And, yes, the Athletic Department expects student athletes to attend their classes, not just pass them.

Go to class. Even if you don't feel like it - even if you are asleep - go to class.
I hope this post doesn't mean anything to anyone - but to one person I hope it is a wake-up call. This is the Women's Basketball forum.
No replies or names will be given. Sorry - no story. Maybe a class they were gonna drop anyway so let's give people the benefit of the doubt. Plus she has the ability to make this whole thing go away.
Go Sista's!
I was in a class with Vroman once. He made 3 classes all year and days of the tests. Otherwise he had his tutors were there for him.
Heck he might of made it there more but I slept through the class most days.

Re: Go To Class
Just so everyone knows, Tiller was in golf class this morning. We're good.
Hilton Coliseum was specifically built to hold in sound with a solid concrete structure, steel doors, and a crowd that sits just a few feet from the court. With a fan base that frequently ranks among the nations largest crowds, players from opposing teams, as well as Iowa State, have said that the floor has shaken due to the loudness of the crowd -

I had a class with Will Clyburn last spring until he dropped it

Heck he might of made it there more but I slept through the class most days. I had class with Curvey and I was amazed how he would manage to show up when we would have a "surprise" quiz. Otherwise he was never in class other than tests.

Re: Go To Class

Re: Go To Class
The spotter thing may be true, I don't know. But the NY Times did a story last year on the use of spotters by KU. The players all knew they were being watched, and if they did not attend class, they got reported. Who were the spotters? According to the Times' story, most were retired folks, mainly men, who were also big fans, so they had a vested interest, shall we say, in keeping student-athletes eligible. One spotter was quoted as saying that the players knew who he was and made certain that the spotter saw them attending. The whole thing sounded like an episode from some comedy show.

Re: Go To Class
The ISU Athletics Department does keep an eye on certain student athletes and their class attendance. They make a watch list both by their academic performance being less than ideal, or because of their high-profile status. For example, Steele Jantz is on this list regardless of his academic performance. For the student-athletes not on this list, the AD has no idea about their class attendance unless a professor were to contact them about it.
