I love Edia days. So much better than media days.

    Re: Big 12 Edia days

I saw an interview with the TCU WBB coach on the local news last night. He thinks the rim lowering idea should be considered, and that WBB needs to start "thinking out of the box".

    OK then...

Typos are always fun; don't take it personally. If a little fun with typos hurts your feelings then proofread before you post.

At first, I thought it was something about Edina, MN.

Hence the smiley face at the end of my response :) If I took everything personally over my little screwups in life I'd be pretty miserable!

for a minute there I thought I was reading the transcript from the ISU WBB Media day. :-) Coach doesn't ever stray from his major talking points.

I thought it was the first name of a new player and you forgot to cap the last name.

    Re: Big 12 Edia days

Watched some of the other coaches:

    BAYLOR
-Kim Mulkey was asked what takeaways she has from already previously coached a national championship team. She said "We're not the same team today than we hope to be, and I don't know that we will be the same team this year that we were last year because I feel like we have even more depth than we had last year."
-Kim also said that Baylor has to have their freshman play this year because they lose so much. I would guess she will have plenty of opportunity to have them see the floor as Baylor won by an average of 26 ppg last season while returning all five starters.
-Kim "doesn't know" if she has an opinion on the idea of lowering the rim. She mentioned the if it's not broke, don't fix it idea since she likes the women's game. That being said, she also mentioned she's for "whatever's good for women's basketball... Just tell me what the rules are and let's go play."

    WEST VIRGINIA
-Big emphasis on it's a learning experience for the Mountaineers.
    - Mentioned that it will be different going into games with huge crowds game in and game out.

    TCU
-Players want to be with the best in the country
    -Will have to "develop" depth
    -9 of 13 are freshmen & sophomores
-HC Jeff Mittie likes the idea of lowering the rims because women's basketball needs "bold choices" and needs to do "bold things"
-On being able to take bus trips instead of flying - "Um… I don’t have to get frisked by the TSA?" Likes the time zone aspect, advantage for fans, families of players

    OKLAHOMA
-Sherri Coale - "I think it's awesome that you could pull out one thing that Gary Blair said because he says so many things. I don't know how you separated it all. We miss him, don't we? Less lively today with Gary being in the SEC."
-Sherri Coale was asked if there were any facets they identified to get better. Her response? "Yeah. There were about 20. I'm not sure if you have time for me to list them all."
-Young team last year, a year older should solve some problems.
-Coale believes the interior has improved the most, possibly because they had the furthest to go
-Coale would put her guards "against anyone in America"
-As the trend goes, Sherri was asked about lowering the rims - "Oh my heavens. I really do think he just -- his team must be so good that he didn't have anything to rant about and so he just started talking about lowering the stinking rims." She sees having to find a women's rim when players are trying to get better a disadvantage.

    KANSAS
-Talked about how the team rallied after Davis' ACL injury, going deep in NCAA.
-Credited Big 12 for preparing them, giving them confidence in NCAA last year. Henrickson called it a "mini Big 12 tournament" since they could compare teams to Big 12 teams

    IOWA STATE
-Bill's glad to see Griner graduate after the year. Joked he has a graduation card ready to send her.
-One of the few who didn't want to split the Big 12 tournament. Interested to see how many fans travel to Texas.
-In my opinion, the usual Bill Fennelly media day. Talked about Anna hopefully being able to contribute more this season, having good crowds/administration/etc, & having to count on freshman & sophomore to control the ball & get it to the more experienced inside

    TEXAS TECH
    -Five great seniors
    -Good newcomers this season
    -20 years since national title
-Doesn't think about the lowering the rim comment. Focused on areas to improve her team

    KANSAS STATE
-Talked about Chambers in opening remarks. Has had great sophomore & junior campaigns
-When asked about moving WBB Big 12 Tournament, said she liked that they were together in one city for the fans to be able to watch, but believes Big 12 will do what's best for the league & best for growth

    OKLAHOMA STATE
-Return five starts & won 9 of last 10 games - Looks forward to building on success
-Sees TCU & WV as great additions
-As heard many times throughout the videos, Griner is the best women's player

    TEXAS
-With new staff, it's like coaching 14 freshmen
-Basically outlined that she knows what to expect after having spent some time in the conference in the past
