Re: ***DRAKE***
We have three double-digit scorers in the half: Hallie 15, Prins 13, Moody 13.
I can't believe Drake has only 10 turnovers. I guess some of them were so bad it seemed like there were more.

Re: ***DRAKE***
Was Drake this bad last year? I remember our game with them was decided in the last minute last year.
Iowa State looks impressive, especially without our best player. Hallie looked great.
If Iowa STate had kept the starters in they could have scored 100 tonight.

Re: ***DRAKE***
87-45 final. Ugly second half as ISU had the end of the bench in for most of it.

Re: ***DRAKE***
Actually extended the lead in the second half with the bench in there.
Also forgot that Kelsey is on the Drake staff.

Re: ***DRAKE***
I think Drake is worse this year than last year since I remember pretty well the Drake game last year. However, I also believe Iowa State is much improved. Moody was close to flawless tonight and she was doing what I thought she was capable of with assists, penetration, and some outside shooting. She had 10 assists and 2 turnovers. Their point guard was weak, but still.
Emiah makes a great person to help handling the ball and is very similar to Moody in many ways. She shouldn't be concerned about little scoring because that will come.
Kid is coming into her own. Tries to do too much, but she will get better at that.
Prins and Christopherson were outstanding.
Brin played well and was all over the place, much improved over last year.
Fallon Ellis was good, but needs to work on her defensive positioning more as does Maddy Baier.
Maddy Baier needs to work on defense and rebounding position and developing other inside post moves, like fakes, jump hooks, duck under fakes to draw fouls. She only shows a straight ahead jump shot at this point. Needs to work like mad on conditioning, and get stronger hands. She is an athlete that needs to develop more basketball skills which I think she will work hard at.
Z will really help us if we need her this year. She looked pretty solid.
This team is pretty exciting. I probably shouldn't hype them too much, but they have great potential.

I'd love it so much if we can repeat this performance @ Iowa. I, for once, wouldn't mind BF running up the score just to erase doubts among prospective recruits if they are thinking between us and the hoks.

Re: ***DRAKE***
I thought Anna played outstandingly tonight. She held onto the ball and was able to get it back when it was knocked away. She had some nice shots and generally played a very smart game. Looking forward to seeing what this team can put together in Iowa City. Hope they go against recent history and come home with a win from over thataway. 6-0 would be nice to see!

I have a feeling they are going to be really fired up for that one.

Re: ***DRAKE***
I had to leave the TV at half; clearly no doubt in the outcome at that point. From what I saw and the final stats, I'm surprised that Bingley didn't get more points than 2 in her 24 minutes - not to worry. She will be a star. Fallon with 5 boards, four fouls and two points in 14 minutes needs work. I expected better based on what I saw early last year. From Cyclones TV I got the impression that Bolte got a warm and enthusiastic reception. She had to be at least a little disappointed with her team. As usual, I'm concerned about the next game, esp. away. Mixed signals there - lose to Florida International and beat WVU? Hope Pop can play.
