After seeing some of the men's game as well and various quotes/reactions, it seems that Iowa made both of these games into really big deals. The players talked and acted during and after like these were NCAA tournament games. Obviously, the rivalry is big, but in the past, I'd say that ISU has had the edge in attitude about the basketball games. Especially for the women, Bluder has sometimes shied away from the hype. Maybe Iowa's football loss to ISU, not going to a bowl game when ISU is, and in general Iowa's lackluster fall sports season, they -- players and fans -- really needed these basketball games to get some respect back. That motivation plus being on their home court was enough for them to squeak by the Cyclones in both games.
if we shoot like a normal night we win the game by double digits...I was at this game and it was 40 minutes of pushing and shoving, missed shots, and white girls falling down. We should be fine moving forward. Love this teams defensive mentality..
As always great re-cap.
We will learn from this and we will go farther in the dance than Iowa.
The last time we beat Iowa at Iowa was 2006 with the dynamic duo of Medders and Ronhovde, a strong supporting cast, and a strong shooting performance.

This team will prove it can shoot by the end of the season. I think they put too much pressure on us and it threw off our shot in that game. It would have helped to have Poppens to put more pressure on their inside game, it would have opened things more for out outside shooters. Hallie is just about automatic when she gets an open three. We have plenty others that can shoot. That was a brutal game, and they threw us off our game.
