CycloneWBB Coach Fennelly said in his briefing that Poppens is going to give it a full go in practice today.
I think she realized that losing in such a painful way (especially to Iowa) gives her a bigger headache than the concussion does.
"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr
I don't think either 2020 or I said that. It's too bad for Pop, because it was clearly killing her sitting on the bench and not being able to play. It wouldn't have taken that much for the game to go the other way; much less than Pop is able to add to this team. I feel worse for her than for anyone else in this situation.

I hope they don't end up brining her back too soon. Part of the problem with concussions is that so much of the analysis depends upon what the patient tells the doctor. It's not like you can take an x-ray or MRI or something and see that the effects of the concussion are all gone.
I don't think she will, but I hope Pop does not feel pressure to get back in there and tells the doctors that she feels better than she really does. Even if she can go through an entire practice.....it is what happens after the practice that matters.

If only the other front court members had the will/drive of Pop...this team would be a real threat.
People are different. If you listen to many Prins interviews, you will understand why Fennelly says she isn't an natural team leader. I always think of Straube in volleyball, getting excited after a good play. Prins is a thinker, not an emotional powerhouse. You have to take players for what they are, and try to get them to use their strengths better. It doesn't work to try to turn people into something they aren't. That said, our parts are great this year. Kidd's shot was great at the first of the year and now is too flat. Some players had bad games, but will be better soon.
I think Brynn needs to develop her pull up jump shot so they can't key on her three pointers. Prins needs to work on her down low game and especially her hook so they can't bump her elbow when she is shooting and get away with it like they often do. Those players have become great defensive specialists.
I am looking forward to more basketball. This team is good.
Should say something about Pop. She needs to keep out of foul trouble, and not take hits in the head. Otherwise, she has done everything that anyone could ever ask of her.
