I wasn't trying to be a ****. I was basically just summarizing your post.

You aren't doing her or your family any favors by posting here. She left the team and you should start posting on the board of the school you picked for her to go to next.

Either tell the entire story or stop posting and move on. It's funny that you feel the need to defend your daughter to anonymous message board posters.

I wish this program was a little less of a ******* soap opera but it apparently it is just that these last five years or so.

Hope she doesn't end up regretting Mommy & Daddy's decision.

    Re: Emiah leaving team

My friend who plays on the scout team had no idea this is going on. Kinda sudden and strange. He did say coach yells a lot, but it's a d-1 school what do you expect? Yelling works for some people, others not so much.

    Re: Emiah leaving team

It is definately a weird situation. Leaving less than half way through a freshman season means that there was something WAY wrong here. I am going to chalk it up to the style of play that BF runs. I was leaning more towards Emiahs side and just disappointed that she was leaving. Now after seeing all of her dad's posts, I have to side with BF and think that attitude most definately came into play. As much as was said about her not being a selfish player - It sure came out quickly how selfish Moody was before the Iowa game. Never a great move to start throwing other players under the bus when the spotlight is on you.

    RB,

Best of luck to Emiah wherever she goes. Sorry it didn't work out. While I would have loved to see her stay at home at UMKC, I'll be keeping track of her success wherever she goes, like I love to do with all of West's D-I athletes (and even many D-IIs).

Kids need to be treated like potential free agents these days because that is what they are.

No reason to be critical of the most successful coach in the ISU athletic department though.

    Re: Emiah leaving team

Strange, he posts to tell us to stop speculating why an important player is leaving the program because coaches, the player and her family know why. Okay.... New to the internet?
In my opinion, if a player leaving mid season is anything other than the player abandoning her team and quitting because of some silly circumstance (Getting yelled at, etc), then one would think letting us know would be essential. You said it right, our "precious program" because it does mean a lot to us. If something fishy is going on, we want to know so the fans, players, etc can effectively voice our concerns to the program and demand change. By not voicing your concerns or what the issue is, obviously puts more blame on the player.
It's a shame she is leaving ISU, the fans support her and I would think the team supported her. Best of luck wherever the road takes her.

I agree with you 100% in the years I have followed the team, one left because she did not like flying (AA), one we think because of the the way BF was yelling at her (JS), one I believe because she was homesick (CR) one for off court issues but the rest it seems were just not happy that they were not playing enough (the joco from OK as I talked to her dad when we played in the Virgin Islands and all he did was complain that his daughter was much better than those on the floor)so they went elsewhere. It is hard for some players who were the star of their high school team to find out that there are players on the team now who are just as good or even better, some handle it others do not.

There are a lot of parents that are getting too controlling when it comes to college athletics, let alone what goes on before kids get to college. IMO kids, teammates, and coaches can work most issues out, but problems come along when a parent is constantly whispering something in the kid's ear.

    Re: Emiah leaving team

My opinion is this. When she commited the old man came on and sang the praises of his kid and the program. Rightfully so. We gave our thumbs up and welcomed this girl to Iowa State. Then she decided to leave and now we are supposed to not speculate about the situation. B.S. It works both ways. Bottom line is she quit on her teamates. That does not show good character. I quit a sport once. However, it was after the season even though I was miserable mid way through that season. Bottom line is I signed up and made a pledge to be with the team.
