1,000 point watch: Anna Prins needs 41 points and Hallie Christofferson is 137 shy of joining the elite club.
Prins has really improved her game. In the loss to Baylor she was muscling in scores through Griner. And Hallie. I made a commitment last year to stop raving about this small town Iowa girl. But I am so Proud to be a fan!
Hal is playing the best ball of her career right now...
She is also the most active on offense other than Nikki -- probably no coincidence she is getting good looks at the basket.
Not to shortchange the other posts though, as Anna's more consistent play this year means she gets more attention, leaving more space for Hallie. And Pop earned her reputation last year as someone who can dominate a game, so teams are not going to ignore her either, thus opening things up.
Plus as much as we lament Nikki's turnovers, she remains one of the best PGs in the country. She is making some very sweet passes for assists. It helps that she and Hallie seem to be working well together.
One of my fantasies is that Hal continues to improve and dominates as a Sophia Young type player in her senior year.
