    Re: Iowa State at Kansas

It probably made sense to sit Moody initially with her 4th. But as soon as KU cut into the lead, she should have been back in the game to keep KU from thinking they had a chance. Instead, KU got a glimmer of hope, some confidence, some momentum, and you don't want to let a team like KU get any of that especially at home when they badly needed a win. Plus ISU got out of its rhythm. Had Moody stayed in or gotten back in quickly, ISU was more likely to keep a flow, and KU's run, if any, would have started later, making it almost impossible for them to catch up in regulation. Who cares if she fouls out if the double-digit lead held up? Sure, it's all speculation, but seems like a lot better odds.

No lead is safe for an ISU team...

... and we wonder why ISU fans are perpetually waiting for the other shoe to drop.

ISU was 3-4 from the line in the 2nd half, and didn't even attempt a FT in the final 11:00 of regulation. KU was called for 7 fouls in the first 9:00 of the 2nd half, then NONE for the final 11:00. Are you ******** me? NONE?!? They just magically didn't foul again? Davis played the final 8:48 plus all of OT with 4 fouls.

After seeing who officiated the game, I'm not surprised.

The problem is no depth and that is on the coach. You have to manage people and that means managing 14 instaed of 11. There is no excuse for not having a backup point in the big 12, absolutely no excuse. What if moody got hurt, can you imagine what would ahppen to this team?

He thought he had a backup point guard...then life got in the way.

It will be critical how this team bounces back. A game like this can change the course of a season.

I agree with a lot of the posts this morning. Another facet, IMO we're not a team that can run a weave on the perimeter to kill clock, with a 1,3,4,5, and 5 on the floor. Keep doing what we're doing with the lead. These teams are just jumping us on the 3 line late, and it got to where we couldn't even execute a simple hand-off of the ball. Our posts are out handling the ball.

I was at the game and watched how it went down. It really has nothing to do with how game was officiated for last 10 minutes. We stopped attacking the basket and turned ball over so much in last 10 minutes, that's why there were no fouls called. Everything changed when Moody got her 4th foul. Nobody to blame but ourselves.

As far as depth issues we played 7 they played 8 so it is more of a case our backup for Nickie is a freshman going against upper classmen.
