WBB: Attendance 5th in Nation

There's a nice article about our attendance in the Rag. Too bad they had to talk about EIU as well. I think it says a lot about Cyclone fans, not just WBB fans!

Re: WBB: Attendance 5th in Nation

Good story. I didn't know that Coach Fennelly was the one who created the Lil'Clone Club:

The Lil’ Clone Club had 52 members when Fennelly started it. The youths can be seen at games in the west bleachers, waiting to high-five the players going off the court.

“When we started, (former athletic director) Gene Smith thought we were crazy,” Fennelly said. “I said to Gene, ‘Most 6-year-old kids aren’t driving to games, so we get their parents.’ That was probably the first thing we did when we came here. It just took off.

“Some of those kids have been sitting in that front row since I got here.”

Today, the club involves a pass for several sports and has nearly 2,500 members.

Here's two Lil' Clone Club members that love going to the game.

We get Wieben and Ross back next year? You bet we can come close to the top in attendance if we're a top 25 team the entire year!

Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans…I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care…I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

#1...no...because Tennessee's arena hold more than Hilton. We could take #2 though.

No not when Tennessee averages more now than Hiltons capacity.

I love all the excuses at the bottom of the story how our numbers are inaccurate.

Like they should be talking - EIU HAS to be doing the same thing because there's no way that CHA has had more than 5,000 fans in any game this year...

I would venture to say that ISU Women's BBall attendance is better than Iowa Men's BBall attendance.
