6'8" Girl Dominates

There is a video on the front pafe of yahoo.com of a 6'8" girls high school basketball player. She was absolutely dominating the game, blocking shots, drop step dunks, rebounds. She is really well built for as tall as she is and moves well. Should be interesting to see what she does in the future... Looks like she commited to Baylor.

Re: 6'8" Girl Dominates

I think I saw this girl on Sportscenter. I don't think I've ever seen a girl take one step and dunk like she did. Usually they need a "takeoff" run.

I have a friend that teaches in her school district, and he said she is unreal.

Re: 6'8" Girl Dominates

When I was in high school our team played against a girl who was around 6'7" and weighed about 115 pounds it seemed like. I think she was from Pella, not sure though. She didn't quite have the ability that this girl seems to have.

Re: 6'8" Girl Dominates

There was a 7ft girl from eastern europe that played at Seminole CC in Florida. When she played our CC we went and watched, she was terrible and could barely make it up and down the court. I remember when we went to play at Seminole we saw her riding a bike around campus, that was a funny sight...

Re: 6'8" Girl Dominates

When I was in school there was a girl who was 6'6" and rail-thin. She played b'ball for a few years before burning out and leaving the game behind. I don't think she really even enjoyed playing and struggled to live up to expectations.

Re: Inside Player

Awesome, so once Courtney Paris graduates, the Big XII gets to deal with Baylor and their unstoppable center.

Re: Inside Player

Well if the opponents are smart they have their hands on the ball every time jolly green has the ball low. Height has its advantages, but it also puts the ball where everyone can see it and someone with quick-steal hands will be all over it.

That must be who I ran into at the Perry Hy-Vee a couple years ago. At 6 foot 6 myself, it is unusual to see men of my height. I was stunned when I turned the corner and was looking eye to eye with a girl!

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."
