Ames, Ia. - Iowa State forward Amanda Nisleit spent the second half of Saturday's 59-54 women's basketball loss to Baylor on the sidelines, her right foot dangling in the air when she had to stand.
That symbolized a painful game for the Cyclones (16-10, 5-8 Big 12 Conference), who were hobbled with another injury and another close loss to the ninth-ranked Lady Bears (23-3, 11-2) at Hilton Coliseum.
Nisleit, who made a career-high four 3-pointers in the first half, left the game with 18:01 left in the second half after landing on the side of her right ankle. Her injury, following season-ending knee injuries to Nicky Wieben and Toccara Ross, left the Cyclones with a five-person rotation and eight healthy scholarship players.
Despite that, Iowa State led for much of the second half and was up 54-52 after Alison Lacey's pull-up jumper from the left wing with 2:40 to play.
But Iowa State didn't score after that. Following four 3-point losses in the Big 12, Saturday's five-point setback stung.

While the extent of Nisleit's injury was unknown after the game, Fennelly said he would be surprised if she can play Wednesday at Missouri.
"She's as tough a player as we have and for her not to be able to go back in, it has to be pretty bad," he said.
