Credits: 1,162,392 | Nisleit 'very doubtful' for Missouri game Iowa State forward Amanda Nisleit is being called "very doubtful" for the Cyclones' women's basketball game at Missouri on Wednesday because of an ankle injury.
Nisleit, averaging 6.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, rolled her right ankle in Saturday's 59-54 loss to Baylor.
"She's still on crutches and won't practice today at all," coach Bill Fennelly said today. "I guess I'd say she's very doubtful."
Medical x-rays were negative and Nisleit was able to put weight on the foot today, after being unable to do so on Sunday.
Fennelly's realistic target for the return of Nisleit is Saturday against Kansas, Fennelly said. LINK to rest of the DMR article.

Credits: 3,525 | Re: Nisleit 'very doubtful' for Missouri game I wonder how Fennelly will adapt...will we see more of Genesis? Move Bolte (or even Lacey) down into a pseudo-post role? Or do we just play a lot of 4-guard offense? I would guess mostly the latter, but who am I to say?
The good news for us is that we're playing the worst team in the conference at just the right time. The bad news is that they have some size (three of their starters are above 6') and they're coming off a morale-booster (broke their 10 game losing streak against Kansas). Hopefully the Twister Sisters will be able to pull this one out! |

Shellie has been getting more playing time than Anna and has hit an occasional 3, but we need her to come in and provide some solid D while letting the other guards catch a minute or two of rest.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." |

I'm very impressed with her and am surprised she doesn't get a little more playing time considering the above and her quickness. |

If this is at all accurate, I think we're in with a 7-9 conference record. Nothing is going to be easy with this team, though, they are having to work for everything they get! |

Totally agree on Stuckey, I LOVE her hustle. But god, we really need a pure PG. I like Lacey, but she is unable to see farther than 5 feet in front of her and she dribbles way too much. She needs to be setting up at the 2 spot, but ya gotta make do I guess. These injuries are getting old, but I am sure Bill will use Genesis more, but we are just gonna need to keep our heads up and keep getting the great hustle out of Heather and Stuckey.

Credits: 352,431 | Re: Nisleit 'very doubtful' for Missouri game I refuse to accept any criticism of Allison Lacey after all she has done for this team. She was asked to play PG last year while Medders was hurt, and again this year because she was the best available, even though her best position is 2G. I don't know how you can say she can only see farther than 5 ft. she has the best court vision of anyone, and lead the team and maybe the conference? in assists. When has Fennelly not had a PG that did not dribble a lot? Stacy Freeze, Lindsey Wilson, Medders? He puts his best and sometimes only athlete at PG. |
