Credits: 226,086 | Big win for the Sisters Our ladies played gutsy, inspired ball tonight at Missouri on their senior night and pulled out a 58-54 victory. Amanda played quite a few minutes, but did not start. She didn't look near 100%. Anderson is really improving with her post moves as she seemed to be scoring at will especially in the 2nd half. Anna came in during the first two minutes of the game and hit a big 3, and Genesis had an awesome follow up bucket. We got to watch (and DVR) the game on FSMW. I think they'll finish 7th in the conference and could end up tied with Nebraska for 6th, but I don't know how the tiebreaker would shake out.
Great job tonight ladies, that was a huge win |

Big 12 is projected to get 7 or 8 bids, so the ladies need to take care of business at home against KU. The last road game against NU could be big, but maybe not critical if they get a win in KC.
Losing to the last place team tonight would have been a killer. |

If this was a matchup in mens it would be top story and they'd talk about it everyday for a week. |

Credits: 226,086 | Re: Big win for the Sisters I think we're in at 7-9 in the conference (18-11 overall), before big12 tourny play. 8-8 most likely puts us in a tie for 6th with Nebraska and I'm not sure how tiebreakers work when, under that scenario, we'll have split with them. Certainly 8-8 means we're riding a 3 game win streak heading into tournament play...sound familiar |

Just a great team win, and if Bill Fennelly isn't COY in the big 12, there is no justice. Lacey had an off night shooting, Tired legs? She plays 35 minutes or more a game, and runs the offense. And she drains a 30 ft shot with under 2 minutes to break the tie. And Anderson looked just whipped at the line with 16 seconds to go and a 2 point lead and calmly sank both free throws. Anderson, Bolte, and Stuckey get better with more experience and more pressure. The grit and determination of these girls make one proud to be a Cyclone. |

I just ordered my tix for Des Moines! I have to go and support the ladies. You have to give them credit, just look at the minutes on the box score. They are working thier butt's off. (I have some family pride on the line as one of the starters is a cousin )
Anyway, I don't know if it has been discussed before, but do the Hawkeye women have a chance to play in Des Moines too? Or will they take them out of region so they don't have a repeat game (ISU vs UI reg. season). That should actually be a attractive game for $$$ reasons. |

Well, I can at least dream....

Des Moines will have 8 teams -- two groups of 4, each group likely advancing in a different region. So, theoretically, ISU could be in one pod and "them" in another.
The tournament goes back to 16 host sites (4 teams each) in '09. |

Iowa has lots of upperclassmen including 5 seniors. Not to worry, however, Bill has Lisa's number. If we play them in round 2, they will have 200 fans, we will have 10,000. |

Assuming we finish 7th in the conference (toughest conf. in Women's BBall)and win one in KC (I think a 7 seed bouds well for us in KC), I suspect we'll get a 6 thru 9 seed in the dance. Iowa is in a weak conf., but is atop their league's standings. Any thoughts on what their seed might be. |
