It reminds me of hawk fans saying we only won because we blitzed them on every play. Right, we used a perfectly legal and often used tactic to beat you. |

Wow, never thought about that before. I wonder if that's how all of the other teams make it?<end sarcasm> |

I recall discussion that we were likely around a 9 seed in terms of rankings. Something about not wanting to put us in the 8-9 game and then have the 1 seed have to face us in essentially a home team environment. Thus the 7 seed which was probably a stretch.
It's just nice to have the team playing post season so I'll just enjoy the run as long as it lasts. |

It's just nice to have the team playing post season so I'll just enjoy the run as long as it lasts. i think this hits it right on the head. we were seeded above nebraska, and texas (who is DEFINITELY better than us...same big xii record as us, but in the south) who are both 8 seeds. Biggest thing is tho, that if we made the tourney, we were guaranteed to play in DM as the host school. They couldn't give us an 8 or 9 seed like steve said, because that would mean sending a #1 seed to iowa, who all deserve to play close to home. SO, then the only options are to make us a 7 or 10 seed. And i have a feeling the committe didn't feel up to giving us (or any big xii team) a 10 seed. and especially with how hot we played in the big xii tourney.
