I didnt think their center was fat. She isnt ripped, but she isnt fat. She ran the floor very well.

Stuckey is probably the quickest player on the team but her problem is consistently knocking down the jumper. If she could shoot 3's with the rest of the team she's probably be starting and be dangerous on offense with her ability to drive to the hoop.

We've never been a blazing fast team but we always have had good execution on both ends of the floor. Having Wieben and Ross last night would have definitely helped since they just had their way with us in the paint.

not only that but the ability to split the minutes with all of them would have been huge

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Re: Huge Weakness for ISU

Rutgers was very strong. Many times when we drove we could not get by them because of their strength.

BF has always had a pretty good post player and a good point guard along with shooters. This year they had neither a 1 or a 5 on the floor that he usually has in the past.

If you want to see fat google the Courtney Paris from Oklahoma. I sat behind the west basket Vaughn looked pretty strong. She ran the floor without much problem.

I do enjoy watching the ladies play. You can have a great coach and a scheme that can make you competitive.

Not sure how anyone couldn't enjoy watching the sisters play. Yes it is a different pace/style than the men offer, but the atmosphere is still a ton of fun and they are Cyclones. That's good enough for me.

I completely agree. I was laying in bed lastnight watching the game and my adrenaline was pumping so bad that after the game I couldnt fall asleep. My wife doesnt understand it, but I love watching them play.

You should go to more WBB games. Their girl last night wasn't fat , nor to I consider the Paris twins fat. We've had our own girls of similiar body type, most recently Rachel Pierson and Gillian Bjerke - even though left the team. Also, after attending more games I'm sure you'll agree that most of our players do infact have muscle definition. Some, like Lightbourne, Stuckey, Mosman, etc., show some in their arms. But the game of basketball is played with your legs (calfs to be specific).

Re: Huge Weakness for ISU

I think the "Sisters" point guard struggles this year shows how amazing Lyndsey Medders was. She could take the weight of the team on her back on the offensive end. This year's team may not have the raw talent Lyndsey has, but they do have the same grit and determination. With no true point guard, and after the injuries zero depth at center, the team made it to the second round of the NCAA's. They may not have the wins to prove it yet, but I definitely think the girls showed this year they have the hearts of champions. They are still a young team. With everyone coming back next year, they should continue to develop. Coach was able to make the Cyclone women a force in basketball. Now, he is proving (even with setbacks) he can sustain the program and continue to get better.

See, WBB is more of a 'true' version of BB. More sets, more scenarios, more strategy.

And I remember a good 'fat' center the ISU MBB team had by the name of Vic. .... It is all in the way you look at things... which isn't surprising.

Um, Wieben is a pretty good 5 and Anderson is decent. Having the season they did after losing their best 2 post players is very impressive.

Wife: Why are you tossing and turning?

You: I can't sleep.

Wife: Why?

You: I was watching these young women in shorts and tank tops running around on TV, and now my adreneline is pumping...

Ha ha,.....Probably didnt help that Wieben was all dolled up on the bench. She looked pretty good.

Women's basketball to me is how the game should be played - in that it is a finesse and passing game (not unlike Princeton, Wisconsin, Iowa and Iowa State -- along with other men's teams that try to slow down the pace of game.) They do it with finesse, passing, accurate outside shooting and (hopefully) easy layups. I have no idea how muscle definition makes a player better? Fennely's players are in great shape, but you have to remember he has a very short bench this year and all the muscle definition in the world can't resolve that.

I'm sorry you don't appreciate the women's game, but since that's the case I guess you shouldn't watch it anymore.

Rutgers has 3 legit All-American candidates on their team. They said during the braodcast that next year's recruiting class has 5 MCDonalds AAs coming in. Think of them like a Duke or NC or UCLA in the mens game. They just reload every year. C. Vivian is a heck of a coach and recruiter.

Man, I wish we could pick up a couple of those recruits... that would take this woman's program over the top, I think, cause there's no doubting at all that Fennely is a hell of a coach.
