Re: Maybe Twister Sisters Aren't Very Good
I wonder how much not playing a home game for almost a month affected them. They now play a stretch of eight straight home games, which will be a chance to regroup and rebuild confidence.

Re: Maybe Twister Sisters Aren't Very Good
An off night should not equate into a blowout by an nonathletic, hapless Bluder squad in front of 200 people. Sounds like we were a turnover machine which is even more frightening considering the athleticism of the teams we'll be facing in the Big 12. Hope this was an aberration and not a sign of things to come.

Re: Maybe Twister Sisters Aren't Very Good
No athletic ability. Quick guards will destroy this team. Iowa isn't brimming with athletes but the guards made us look like an 8th grade club team.

Re: Maybe Twister Sisters Aren't Very Good
It is very disappointing to watch this team in action. They have so much experience at a high level. They have absolutely EVERYONE back this year. In fact they even added two of their top players back to the team. With all of the talent and experience they have, they should be a top 15 team no question.
That was a HUGE loss at Iowa in more ways than one. We need Iowa to have as many losses as possible so they do not make the NCAA tournament and we get a shot at playing in Carver.

Yep. Will Coach turn them around and jump start them? I guarantee it. All is not lost my friend. C.John why can't I bring up an honest observation without being called out by you? I love BF and this team but they still need to get things figured out.

Because I called you Mr Sunshine? Sorry if you considered that being called out.

Re: Maybe Twister Sisters Aren't Very Good
So snippy. :)
I didn't see anything wrong with being concerned after getting toasted by Standford and them embarrassed by Iowa. It should be concerning.
Often times there are way too many extremes around here. Post-loss insanity or "oh, it'll be just fine" after a poor loss.

Re: Maybe Twister Sisters Aren't Very Good
Losing to Iowa always sucks, but BF is going to use these losses to improve the team. Hopefully they clean up the slop come Big 12 time. I'm not sure we are a top 25 team, but may be by the end of the season when it matters.

Fortunately, we've got plenty of time before the conference season to figure things out.

Re: Maybe Twister Sisters Aren't Very Good
Anyone can have a bad game offensively, but you can always play defense. We didn't do a good job on either end. My prediction is the rotation will drop to 8 players. For those outside the top eight, they will need to step up daily to earn any playing time.

I expect to see a improved team in three weeks when I'm in town to watch them at Hilton.

I never said they were a great team, but they aren't bad. Defensively they limited the threes our guards got off, and made entry passes into the post difficult. Yes, this is the same squad that lost to Rutgers last year in the tournament, and last year we said they weren't very athletic, but they won a lot of games last year because of fundamentals. Fundamentally they are where they need to be, they just need to start executing (catching passes, hitting open shots). I also think this might be a team that's trying a little bit too hard and not letting the game come to them. Once somebody takes the initiative to calm them down, they'll be fine. Big XII champs? Doubt it, but they'll be in the top half. Let's also keep in mind we weren't in the NCAA tournament until we caught lightning in a bottle at the Big XII tournament...
Oh, and the freshmen point guards need to remember if you're driving, you always need to have a plan as to what you're doing with the ball. They're young however and they'll learn I'm fairly certain. Lacey and Ezell know how to zip the ball around the arc and look for the open three, the freshmen need to learn how to keep the ball reversal alive.
