    Wait--What??

There are 10 on the first team and the 3rd place team in the toughest conference in the country doesn't even get one spot? What a frickin' joke, people.

You can blame the coaches. They are the voters. :)

I think it's because Iowa State is so balanced across the board. They all pitch in to wins instead of one person being able to carry the team.

Sorry, but there's not a player on that first team who I would take off and replace with Heather...

Re: Ezell Second-team All Big XII

If you look at conference stats only, ISU's highest scorer is #19 (Ezell) and highest rebounder is #20 (Nisleit). The scoring and rebounding on the team is spread out ridiculously evenly, so much so that a slump by any single player (or even two players) is not the end of the world. We've got to be one of the oddest teams in the country (in a good way).

Great point - we will be harder to prepare for in the NCAA. Also, the opponent has to think in the back of their mind that Lacey could have a monster game...

Re: Ezell Second-team All Big XII

Lately Lacey has been slumping, but Ezell is shooting pretty well. Before that, Ezell slumped for a few games but Lacey was playing good ball. Meanwhile Wieben, who had been slumping pretty much the whole season, has suddenly been the player she was before her injury. Bolte is all over the place -- she might put up 2 or 18 in a given game. Nisleit gives us 9 points and 6 rebounds almost every game but then she explodes for 36 points in a two game span recently. The only steady offensive output we get is from Stuckey -- none. :)

It might seem bad that we don't have a consistent offensive threat, but it makes us extremely hard to prepare for. With Wieben back to her old self, it's even harder now.

Or Ezell, or Bolte, or Wieben... :)

I think she might have broken the West backboard the other night on a jumper from the elbow.
