After watching the Tennessee/Ball State Game I would have rather played Tennessee too! Those Ball State Gaurds are tough.

This was the year to knock out Tennessee. They're young and not poised. Too bad ISU didn't get the chance to beat a "quality" program. Ball State did look pretty good, but we should match up pretty well.

It will be a tough matchup for us. They have some quick guards. I would have liked to face Tennesseee too. Oh well, here's to hopefully making it to the Sweet 16.

I wanted to p lay Tennessee just so we could beat Pat Summit, but at the same time....I'd rather play Ball State.

Dangerous game for the Sisters, they were probably like us, hoping to get a shot at Tennessee, but that is not happening. Hopefully we give Ball St. our full attention and come out smoking like last night. I would like to think Ball St. cannot put together 2 games in a row like they played last night, hopefully they still have stars in their heads when they play us...

As a long-time Summit and Vols fan, as many I am upset with Ball St because I feel cheated that ISU didn't get the chance to break the TENN Sweet 16 record, happy that we don't have to match up with their huge influx of posts, somewhat happy ISU is playing Ball St. Happy that 7000 Tenn fans are gone.

I have to give credit to my mom, she is a long-time Summit/Vols fan and she said she thought Ball St was going to win because she watched Ball St play a couple games and she said their guards were very fast and that is Tennessee's weakpoint - the point.

Boy, after watching last night's game, they are fast and play physical. But I don't think ISU is going to let them get up the floor like that.

My biggest concern is I wonder if BF and any of the coaches have even prepped for Ball St. He talked about how 2 coaches were prepping for Tennessee, I just hope they got their hands on some Ball St tape. I would say edge to Ball St.

In our favor is that Ball St will have to guard 4 or 5 players, not 2, Ball St. last night had to guard two players, see my posts on Tennessee, Bjorkland and Strickland. Both were having fits last night, and Summit herself said the post play was key, and it dind't show up.

I am counting on Wieben, Niz, Jos, and Arlen to have a good game.

I think the ESPN studio crew said it best last night (although they were referring to an ISU-Tennessee matchup, but the argument is still relevant) - if we're draining our 3's like we did last night, Ball St isn't going to beat us. First, if we're draining our threes, either they continue to let us hit wide open shots, or they focus on stopping the three, in which case we start dumping the ball inside and eat them alive inside the paint. Second, we're top 10 in the nation in defense, so Ball St isn't going to score on us easily. Third, not to take anything away from what Ball St did last night, but the Tennessee team that they beat was not a #5 seed-calibur team. They were given that high of a seed on name recognition alone.

If we play Iowa State basketball the way we've become accustomed to seeing it over the last decade, we should win this one fairly easily. Then again, this is the tournament, and anything can happen...

It does feel like we got robbed a little. Ball State ends the Vols' incredible run, when we were lined up for the shot at it. SDSU tied our record for threes, because they seem to be our new nemesis. What is the deal?

My guess, the way they performed against ETSU, they hadn't even given any thought to preparing for Tennessee or any other team they may face in the tournament other than ETSU. And quite frankly, that's just the way it should be. You can't worry or prepare for the opponent in the next round, because in the NCAAs you may not last that long if you don't give your current opponent your full attention. My guess is they weren't going to prepare for the Tennessee/Ball St winner until today. Just hope they had some tape on Ball St, because I'm sure they weren't expecting to have to prepare for them...
