Taylor Greenfield rated #17 in Class of 2011
Taylor Greenfield, an ISU recruit, has just been rated as the 17th best prospect in the class of 2011. I hope BF can land her as I believe this would be his highest rated recruit ever. Does anyone know? Women's Basketball Recruiting - ESPNU 100 - ESPN -
Re: Taylor Greenfield rated #17 in Class of 2011
We could see some really big things coming up in WBB.
We have the best record over the past ten years in the upper midwest/Big12 North. We have a new practice facility and one of the best basketball venues in the nation with some of the best fans in the nation, and we are always in the top 32 in the NCAA.
The future is really bright. Sometime a team will go on a run in the NCAA (like we did last year) and will then fade from the scene. Instead, we are pulling in better and better recruits every year. If Greenfield commits we will have a extremely good team in two years.

But i'm sure she's taking her time and not jumping into the wrong choice

What's up with Kiah Stokes? She's 11th from Marion and I've never heard her name before?

What is BF's highest rated recruit?

Re: Taylor Greenfield rated #17 in Class of 2011
Kiah Stokes is the daughter of former Iowa Mens BB player Greg Stokes. That would make it very hard to get her to come to Ames.

I can see where the hawk connection would make it tough, but wouldn't you want to play for the by far best team in the state? I hope she is offered and comes. Getting 2 of the top 20 in the same class would be huge.

In all fairness Drake and UNI have been the best at Men's for the last few years. Hopefully that logic won't come with Harrison Barnes.
Let's see 7 posts and I was able to turn it into a Harrison Barnes thread. Not a record by any means. Just damn proud of my accomplishment.

Iowa State is becoming a national power and if they can continue to recruit well and bring the fans, I don't see why they can't win a NC in the next 5 years.
Awesome job on the HB plug. -
Re: Taylor Greenfield rated #17 in Class of 2011
Hopefully, ISU's early involvement and offer to her and long recruitment has established relationships between her and the coaches, as it appears was the case with Prins. But if Pat or Geno come knocking, I wouldn't blame her for considering. Duke may be an early offer, but everyone knows that WBB players at Duke are 2nd class citizens compared to the boys. Lack of funds for practicing, etc. If Dr. K says he wants the court, they have to relinquish. I am curious if the MSU offer came before the coaching change, and she reoffered when she went to Duke.
Just think, Taylor probably reads our speculations and just laughs.

I've heard that Stokes may not want to play for Iowa so she can pave her own path as opposed to following Dad's. ISU is in the mix but probably behind Maryland.

I watched her play around a dozen times this past season and have been extolling her abilities quite a bit. She was one of 12 players nationwide selected to the USA U-16 squad (Greenfield was also invited to tryouts but didn't make the team.)
Read this post for some amazing defensive stats: http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/...tml#post942036 (Amanda Zimmerman (Ballard) named 2009 Miss Iowa Basketball)

Amanda Bartz: 68
Nina Smith (1), Anne O'Neil (13), and Katie Robinette (14) were all higher, but they all transferred in. Smith transferred away after her redshirt season.

When was the last time the state of Iowa produced two top-20 gbb recruits in one year? I'm guessing never.

Re: Taylor Greenfield rated #17 in Class of 2011
State of Iowa recruits in top 20:
1996 #20: Tammi Blackstone
1999 #1: Nina Smith
2000 #13: Anne O'Neil
2002 #3: Gillian Goring
That's it since 1995 as far as I can find.
