Just looked over the rosters. That's pretty cool that they have them on there.
After seeing the Old Iowa Roster, they should be the favorite to win it. The Iowa State team should be second, with Kohawks taking third and fourth. I haven't heard of any of the players on either of the other two teams. Coe's only senior from last year, Calie Sobaski, is playing for the Iowa State team. Looks like Coe did a pretty good job of evening up it's two teams, so hard to tell which one is better.
41-53 Record in CF Mafia. The most games played and wins by any player in Cyclone Fanatic History. Yes, I'm a nerd.
I went to the game. Coe played very inspired basketball in the game. The ISU players played the first 32 minutes or so like they expected a victory b/c their shirts said ISU on them. They gave more effort at the end, but it was a lost cause at that point
Anyway my thoughts on they new players --
Zimmerman - I've watched her play in high school lots of times and she's always the same, very skilled and consistent. Plus, she's already got a Big 12 body.
Poppens - I'd never seen her before. She's just a hair shorter than Jocelyn Anderson, and is very athletic and strong. On her post moves she seemed to have the agressiveness that Arlen had last year and further back, Katie Robinette. She also hit a long range jumper. I'm looking forward to her play more than any of the freshmen this season.
Just Zimmerman and Poppens by themselves, I think, will give us more physical post play this year.
As for Prins and Schroll, they were there watching. Either Schroll is taller than I expected or Prins is shorter (I'm guessing she's not a legit 6'6"). Prins though looked to stronger be than Wieben or Anderson. Another positive sign for the upcoming season.
