Twister Sisters in Iowa Games this Sat.

Just a note to those in town for the Iowa Games this weekend: Iowa State's women will be defending their title in the 5-on-5 adult basketball tournament this Saturday, July 18.

The roster includes:
Heather Ezell - captain
Jocelyn Anderson
Kelsey Bolte
Chelsea Poppens
Calie Sobaski
Whitney Williams
Amanda Zimmerman

Their first game is at 10:30 am at the City Hall gym.

Would be fun to watch, hopefully someone will be able to go and will give us a run down of what happened.

Won't be able to give a full report, but I'll see what I can round up. Obviously both Kohawk teams are Coe players and I'm guessing that Old Iowa is our coaches need, as she played at Iowa. She is still a force to be reckoned with.

Just looked over the rosters. That's pretty cool that they have them on there.

After seeing the Old Iowa Roster, they should be the favorite to win it. The Iowa State team should be second, with Kohawks taking third and fourth. I haven't heard of any of the players on either of the other two teams. Coe's only senior from last year, Calie Sobaski, is playing for the Iowa State team. Looks like Coe did a pretty good job of evening up it's two teams, so hard to tell which one is better.

Should have said team, instead of need. I looked at the rosters, she is playing, along with our assistant coach.

No way a team of UNI, Drake and Iowa degenerates comes into our town and wins. ISU defends their crown.

I see the Iowa team has Coach Biggs from UNI. She is an assistant at Coe. I wonder why Coach Peterson is not playing and only coaching. Those were the nicest people trying to recruit my daughter. Classy coaches!!

Iowa State is the heavy favorite - all current players or just graduated - thus younger and in better shape.

Thank You! They are awesome. Randi is playing. Each team has to designate someone as the Coach.

Randi is a great person and has really turned the Coe women's team around. My daughter played with Coach Biggs last weekend at Waloo.

Gotta agree with you - Old Iowa will be tough. Jill Martin was a heckuva player; it will be interesting to see if she still has her game.
