Prins Named Big 12 Freshman of the Week
AMES, Iowa – Iowa State center Anna Prins was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week by a media voting panel for season-opening games of Nov. 13-15.
Prins scored 20 points to lead Iowa State to an 80-40 win over Florida Atlantic in the team’s season opener on Sunday. The 6-7 center went 7-of-10 from the field, including hitting three of her five attempts from behind the three-point line. She also connected on 3-of-4 from the free-throw line.
“For Anna to be named Big 12 Freshman of the Week is a special way to begin her career at Iowa State,” ISU head coach Bill Fennelly said.

There has been so much hype arround the 6'8" freshman at Baylor, that Prins hasn't gotten anywhere near the same press. They are very different types of players, but it is nice to see Anna get recognized so quickly.

Prinns is going to be a great player for Iowa State. But the most underrated player may be Poppens. She is going to be unbelievable the next 3 years.
Re: Prins Named Big 12 Freshman of the Week
We have some very talented underclassmen. Awesome.

Just came back from Coach Talk with BF. He said Anna grew an inch over the summer. Wow!
And, there are plays designed for her to take advantage of her 3-point shooting skills. Can't wait to see more of that.
