Didn't say just shared with me at the game that Bill had gotten a new commitment on his trip to Cal. (this was at Baylor game)

When I get a chance, I'll see if I can find any mention of it in a CA local paper online somewhere.

Cool stuff. Pretty impress group in the stands. Coach Sherri has the crazy hair thing going on. Sorta dig it.

my heart would be jumping out of my chest if I attended a high school game and Pat Summit walked in. One of the very few celebrities I would like to meet. Though I have to be honest, I think TN offense relies way to much on put backs, athleticism and powering it up. I think that is the difference between TN and UConn. Both have the athletes, but Geno is a better X O s coach for today's style of ball.

    Coale looked a hot mess.

Totally agree--TN is big, slow and can't shoot (with the exception of Bjorkland). They remind me of Baylor.

I road down the elevator with Pat and some of her team at the Insight Bowl in 2000. They were staying at the same hotel as our Alumni Association. They were already dressed for their game with ASU that was being played outside at Bank One Ballpark . It was being billed as the first NCAA outdoor hoops game or something. Pat was polite but her players were rude and bitchy and dismissive when i wished them good luck in the game. It was the last time I wished them luck and I have vigoriously cheered against them every time I have seen them play but it didn't work until last year! I really wanted to meet and beat them last year but they got beat first.

Fennelly always talks about the importance of getting the top players in Iowa every year. I would assume he is very intense on getting Stokes.
I think Greenfield is a pretty strong Cyclone lean.

Haven't figured this out, but while looking for it I found another player we've reportedly offered:

UW women thinking big off the court, too

NCAA rules prohibit coaches from discussing recruits, but it's no secret in recruiting circles that Wisconsin's top frontcourt target is 6-foot-5 Alex Cohen of Nicolet High School in Glendale.
Cohen's combination of size and versatility have brought her offers from around the country, including Michigan State, Michigan, Iowa, Northwestern, Rutgers, California, Kentucky, Iowa State, Missouri and Bowling Green, as well as Marquette, UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee. She's also made an unofficial visit to perennial power Stanford.
    -------------
"She's a legit 6-5 and her ability to play the perimeter is what intrigues coaches," said Waring. "If you can get a kid who's the tallest player on your team and she can play inside and outside, that really stretches a defense.
"This kid can run the floor, too. She's just one of those kids that coaches can't help but get excited about because they look at a 6-5 kid who plays like she's 6-1."

    Re: WBB Recruiting continued...

Great research! And wow, what a catch she would be in addition to Stokes and Greenfield. I get the feeling that BF is gunning for higher-ranked recruits this year (as he did last year, e.g. Prins), since he knows he's got so much talent to replace and has a first-class new practice facility to sell.... This could get very interesting.

By the way those photos of all the top tier coaches watching that high school game are CLASSIC! I love seeing them out of their make up and game day attire, just hanging out in sweats. And I agree Coach Coale did look like a "hot mess," but I still admire her moxy.

    Re: WBB Recruiting continued...

Iowa St and Rutgers are her best offers so far. Got to hate Stanford for moving in on our recruits though. Must be nice to be Stanford, TN, UConn. Move in on recruits later when they have proven themselves. This would be the 3rd recruit in the last 3 years I know of that Tara has moved in on after a ISU offer.
