Wish we were ahead of Texas since we just beat them. Maybe next week.

Re: Sisters enter the AP for the first time this year
Talk about a tough league! We are ranked 22, and yet there are six other Big 12 schools ahead of us. Is this some kind of record for high placements for our league?
I mean about 1/3 of the top 22 teams are in the Big 12.

this league is so deep its insane.. it will be interesting to see come march how the selection committee handles the Big 12
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -

UT at 19 is a little surprising - Goestenkors must have a good sized fan club among the writers. To its credit, UT does have a win over OSU and its losses to UConn, Tenn, A&M (and ISU?) don't hurt them. Hopefully UT is properly placed and ISU will continue to move up. I'm guardedly excited about the OU game.

"How does OU look this year?" Ranked # 11 (14-4) with loses to UGA, Notre Dame, Tenn, and Baylor and a win over A&M. Abi Olajuwon, 6-4 post is the Paris heir apparent, but, doesn't play that much. Actually, I think they're winning on the basis of guard play and play a small line-up.

Ah, thank you, I admittedly haven't been following the girls and WBB in general as close as in years past. It got a lot harder when I wasn't living on campus and getting into games free with a trombone. Go figure.

Re: Sisters enter the AP for the first time this year
Yeah, the AP Poll is crap anyway. There simply aren't enough women's games on TV for nationwide writers to be anywhere close to knowledgeable about all those teams. I'll take the coaches poll ranking any day.

Olajuwan has started all 18 games, averaged 12 ppg, and 21+ minutes. I would guess the minutes may have something to do with conditioning, she looks almost as big as CP did last year.

Is Abi in any way related to the NBA-great Hakeem? There was some speculation on this when I was at the Big XII tourney last spring.
