Fennelly post game locker room speech

Just watched the video at cyclones.com after the game at Texas and all I can say is, amazing! How could you not want to play for and win for this guy? He truly is a great basketball coach.

I am extremely happy and excited for the ladies team. What a great win. But does anyone besides me think the use of the camera in post game celebrations is now being abused? The Coach Rhoades clip in Lincoln was dynamite, it was heartfelt, and it was sincere. Not to say Coach Mac's speech or Coach Fennelly's speech isn't, it just looks like we are abusing something that happened that was very cool in Lincoln and beating a dead horse to death with it.

Not to take away ISU's win in Austin. Just try a new approach.

It didn't start with Rhoads in Lincoln. It started at the 2008 Big 12 WBB Tournament, when #8 ISU beat #1 KSU in OT.

I agree but I don't care. After the PR speech, if something like that happens again I want to be able to see it.

    BTW it "Rhoads"

I could never grow old of seeing coach Fennelly speeches. I've said it over and over again here that I think at some point we have to name the court at Hilton after him because even compared to Johnny Orr this guy has accomplished more than any basketball coach ever has. He took a doormat program that had never won anything meaningful and has turned it into one of the more respected programs in the country and a program that people hate to play against come March. Just look at some of the teams he's had here, the players he develops, the way his teams play. He's not only a great coach but he's also a great teacher and builder of character and prepares his ladies well for life after basketball as well.

You have to be kidding. This has been going on for a long time. It's because ISU has done it for so long that we caught lightning in a bottle with Rhoads' speech.

Go to the isuvideo section on YouTube and find the post game locker room speech from our game vs Rutgers in Wells Fargo from almost two years ago. This did not start with our win in Lincoln.

Actually it's "Rhoads' clip" I believe. Anyway, i don't think it is over done, and what a great thing for any incoming recruit to see. plus I really enjoy Rhoads, Fennelly and Jackson's passion.

It amazes me how year after year he puts together a team that competes at high levels.

I wouldn't compare the Rutgers speech to PRs speech. There was a totally different situation with each. Both showed a ton of passion, but thye were dealing with a different locker room attitude.

If I had to compare them I like Fennellys a little more. Are you kidding me?

Locker Room speeches are something that will never get old. They are a huge recruiting tool, especially at the level that I work at. Anytime I have the chance to get good locker room footage, I do.
