Re: No. 22/18 Cyclones Finally Get Best of No. 11/12 Oklahoma
The girls continue to get better. They could be a scary team later in the year.

Despite Lacey carrying these team in a lot of games, I think starting with that game you actually saw a more balanced attack then what we had last year. They don't live and die by the three as much as in the past.

Great job last night ladies.
But I want to give a shout out to Jess Schroll and Denae Stuckey! These 2 girls go hard, and I mean HARD!!!! They are undersized and playing taller, bigger girls, but yet they fight for a loose ball. They dive on the floor and play scrappy and this is what I like.
FWIW if there are any Men's basketball players lurking around this forum, pay attention to these 2. You could learn a little bit from how they play...its called guts and giving it your all!!

One thing about Schroll: at the beginning of the season, anytime she really went all-out it seemed like she picked up a foul every 3 minutes she was in the game.
Last night: 32 minutes, 0 fouls. This in a game where you couldn't breathe without committing a foul. She obviously rebounded well, but I thought she also played great defense too, which you don't see on the stat sheet.

I can see her sliding into that Denae Stuckey scrappy player role next year.

This team is really starting to gel on the floor. Bill has the these ladies believing that they can beat anyone now. It was pretty evident out of the gate yesterday that we were not intimidated at all.

Schroll would get out of control earlier this season like Stuckey used to. It took a year plus for Stuckey to channel all of that energy without being a turnover wanting to happen. Know she gives all of the energy as a total plus because she isn't out of control but still playing full tilt. Schroll only got out of control once lastnight that I noticed and that was late int he game when she started dribbling a 100 mph against the press but got bailed out by getting fouled.. A really nice game for her coming on the tails of getting into Bill's doghouse after the "T" against Texas. I was glad to see Bill mentioned her by name as bouncing back from what he said was a rough week for her. Sounded like he must have been on her pretty good Monday and Tuesday and it was nice fair play to get her a special positive mention in the presser.

How good is this team really ?? My opinion is they are real good...maybe the best overall defense ever and enough offensive tools to score points all over the floor.this could get real good (top ten) . anyone else think the sameway ?

Offense is going to kill us in the end, unfortunately. The posts are still missing layups and are not quite physical enough to draw fouls. Bolte is VERY streaky. Williams has just fallen off of the map and is not hitting her open looks. This team is going long streches of games without scoring points. Luckily there defense is stellar and keeps them in a lot of games that they would otherwise get blown out. When the offense is on though and they can hit 70+ points... they will not be beaten.
