AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women’s basketball team moved up seven spots to rank 13th in this week’s Associated Press Top 25, which was released Monday afternoon. The ranking is ISU’s highest in the AP Poll since finishing the 2001-02 season ranked 10th.
During the 2001-02 campaign, Iowa State never dropped below No. 16 and spent most of the season ranked in the AP Top 10.
The Cyclones ranked 17th in last week’s ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Top 25, which was their highest regular-season ranking in that poll since moving as high as No. 14 during the 2004-05 slate. This week’s coaches’ poll will be released on Tuesday.
Iowa State will face No. 3 Nebraska at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Lincoln, Neb. ISU’s last meeting with a team ranked in the top three came last season in its loss to No. 2 Stanford in the NCAA Elite Eight. The Cyclones’ last win over a team in the AP top three came during the 2003-04 campaign against No. 2 Texas Tech.

This has set ISU up with a great chance to jump into the top 10 nationally with a win over the Huskers. They couldn't be in a better position and who would have thought that after replacing the post players with freshman? BF is by far one of the best coaches in the country.
let's beat the fuskers!!!!!!!!!!anyone that i want to beat badly is the damn fuskers in any sport-i can not stand them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No. 11 and ISU victim OU is down just 2, 32-30 to UConn at the half. I don't expect OU to win, but, a good showing may be indicative of where we are as a team and as a conference.
“We’ve got a pretty good football conference, and we’ve got a pretty good conference overall. We’re still walking around with our heads held high and our chest out, about that.” Paul Rhoads
Our success starts and ends with Aus. I hope BF can find someone good for next year to replace her... easier said than done. As far as this year goes... I just have a feeling like we can go deep into the tournament... anyone else thinks the same?
