Ouch - MU's dire situation
I actually think Stein is a good coach, and I think she is fairly well regarded nationwide, but this really shows how an administration can undermine an athletic program. Interesting read: A program at the crossroads
Makes me really understand what Fennelly means by the importance and value of having a school and administration supporting your programs' efforts.

Re: Ouch - MU's dire situation
Stein will be gone once they lose in the B12 tourney. They only waited a year to save money by not having to buy her out last year.

Re: Ouch - MU's dire situation
Maybe they can hire their old "Big Hair guy" back.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Ouch - MU's dire situation
Without in-state respect, the local kids don't know where to go. Missouri has a large population and we've had a good history recruiting there in the past. Pierson, Florzak, and Ezell came in a cluster and then the pipeline dried up. I don't know if we haven't been working it or if we've just lost out. Are there any Missouri girls on our watch list now?

Big 12 and Missouri Valley does fairly well there. KState has done well there in the past. Don't think there is much there for 2011 class that I have heard about though. The top recruits the last couple years: Spani went to TN, and Hartmung is going to Texas.

A&M is going into KC hard. I think OSU is starting to as well. Add in KU, KSU and ISU, and the Tigers have almost no chance.

Re: Ouch - MU's dire situation
I thought that Coach Anderson's daughter, the men's basketball coach, went to A&M instead of playing at Missouri indicated what state the women's program was in.

Re: Ouch - MU's dire situation
Stein's coaching in the last ISU- MIZZU game was horrendous.

Re: Ouch - MU's dire situation
just to chime in.
KSU and KU have been here for quite a while now and A&M beat the doors down the last year and have more on the hook.
OSU has 2 gals for 11 verballed as does KU.
Arky signed one last year too
Making a difference everyday! -

Arky signed one last year too Louisville took Polly Harrington out of Hickman Mills this year, the same school that produced aTm's Tyra White.
Danielle Adams was headed to Stein out of high school, but was a non-qualifier. A top 75 player in HS, she really blew up in juco, and Stein was left on the outside looking in.

Re: Ouch - MU's dire situation
According to BVL twitter, Cindy Stein has announced she isn't coming back. Wonder who would want the Mizzou job. Great conference, but empty arena and an administration that says show me results before you get resources for recruiting and assistants. This will be an interesting one to watch.

Rumor is that's they want to hire former player Melissa McFerrin who's coaching at Memphis right now.
wbballhoopscoop tweets: "Don't be surprised if it happens." He seems to think it's pretty much a done deal.
