He is mad because she turned him down for a date
In addition, along with star treatment from the officials comes the possibility that a team will try to goad you into getting ejected. (See Fizer v. Gottlieb in the Big XII tournament. Luckily Fizer kept his cool somewhat and it only resulted in a double technical.) As a star you have to keep your cool.
I thought there was a rule that ejection in the second half of a game resulted in suspension for the next game... I have no idea when in the game this happened.

Luis Colon from Kansas State got 1 game when he punched the dude from California. Sounds about right. However if you hurt the other person you should be out until that other person is able to play again. Unless the other person is a senior.

Baylor's Griner suspended 1 game for punch - College Women's Basketball - Rivals.com
Despite the title, the article actually states that the 1-game suspension is the NCAA minimum and it could be longer depending on the conference decision. Also in the article, Barncastle's dad said her nose was broken.
I say hold her out for the conference tournament however many games that is and let her play in the NCAA's. The broken nose should play into this decision. It's not like she threw a harmless little jab as the players were tangled. She took a full swing intending to do harm.
From the way the TT player looked, she needed some ice. Whoever said Griner couldn't punch, it looked like she knew how to connect to me.
