Four Cyclones Nab Academic All-Big 12 Honors
AMES, Iowa –Iowa State had four women’s basketball players named to the 2010 Academic All-Big 12 teams, the conference announced Thursday. The Cyclones had two players on the first team and two on the second.
“I am very proud that we had four players make the Academic All-Big 12 Team,” ISU head coach Bill Fennelly said. “We take great pride in our commitment to the student part of student-athlete.”
Seniors Shellie Mosman and Anna Florzak each represented Iowa State on the first team for the first time in their careers. Mosman is a Carroll, Iowa, native and graduated with a degree in accounting in just three years. She is currently working on her masters degree in accounting and holds a 3.98 cumulative grade-point average. She has played in 70 contests in her career, including 13 this season. She earned a start against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, where she scored a career-high 14 points and dished five assists.

Congrats to these four players. Great work. As the TV ad has said, thousands of graduating college athletes will be going pro in something other than their sport.
