Lacey is doubtful for Friday's game

Alison Lacey has been issued as doubtful for Friday's Big 12 Tournament game. Iowa State says that she is recovering "nicely" from pneumonia.

This is pretty much what I expected. She needs to recover so she can play the NCAA first round on the 21st. Hopefully in ten days she can be ready but doubt that she will be truely 100% even then.

If there is a God, he/she obviously hates the Iowa State Cyclones. I don't know what we did to deserve all the bad luck we've gotten over the years, but I hope we can get on God's good side somehow?

1st game will be a tough win without AL on the court. Hopefully Hilton South can provide what is needed, but WOW...gonna be tough.

She's been out for a while now. If it is bacterial pnemonia that can be taken care of in a couple of weeks. ISU's got the Hilton location pretty much wrapped up. No need to push it for he Big12 tournament.

Since we are a lock for the tourney, we are playing at home.

Agree just sit her out till the NCAA tourney if need be. No use in rushing her back too early.

Too bad. They needed a couple of wins I think just to help them with seeding. Someone needs to step up. Hope she is able to go in the NCAA's.

Yes, just let the virus run its course and rest her. We will need her to win the second-round game as we will face a pretty salty team by then at Hilton.

I thought that they still had to get a certain seed for this to happen. If ISU ended up a 9 or 10 seed then they would not be guaranteed to play in Hilton.

No, we are a lock for Hilton and probably will be no worse than a 4 seed. The seeds get bumped around a little to get the hosting teams at home and to avoid early conference vs. conference matchups. The Big 12 2nd place team that is ranked 13th isn't going to drop much in seeding even if we get skunked in the Big 12 tournament this weekend. They are also smart enough to know ISU is w/o Lacey this week.
