2010-11 Nonconference Schedule...
Gonna play a lot of name schools in nonconference action next year...we get Michigan in Hilton in the first year of the Big 12/Big 10 Challenge...we go to Carver...and we are in the Paradise Jam in an absolutely LOADED field. This is a tournament with 3 pre-determined games though, not a normal 8 team bracket.
Playing Tennessee would be a REAL test to start off the season. Women's PJAM Tournaments -
Re: 2010-11 Nonconference Schedule...
Paradise Jam (3 games): They'll have to split up the teams from the same conference -- ISU/Missouri, Georgetown/WVU, GaTech/Virginia. Tennessee and TCU will be the "wild cards".
Michigan: Home (Dec. 4 or 5)
Drake: Home
Iowa: Road
UNI: Road
Cyclone Challenge: 2 Home games (probably Dec. 29 and 30)

Re: 2010-11 Nonconference Schedule...
Next year will be different because we'll flip from extremely guard oriented the last few seasons with Aus and Ezell, etc. to inside orientation with Poppens, Prins, and Zimmerman unless we have a guard or 2 explode out of nowhere. Would be nice to see Kelsey get a comfortable handle in the offseason to add another dimension to her game, but I just don't see it. -
Re: 2010-11 Nonconference Schedule...
BF has stated that next year's non-conf schedule will be much different than this year was.
Now just trying to figure out if I have $ to go to the US Virgin Islands in November -
Re: 2010-11 Nonconference Schedule...
I think tge players that are coming in will be huge and Whitney Williams I think will step up.. if bolte can avg 14 or so a game that will be huge
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -
Re: 2010-11 Nonconference Schedule...
Great field - end of season ESPN/USA Today rankings for the teams - 3, 10, 13, 16, 21, 37, 43 and MU. We were contemplating a beach vacation next winter - this might be it.
“We’ve got a pretty good football conference, and we’ve got a pretty good conference overall. We’re still walking around with our heads held high and our chest out, about that.” Paul Rhoads -

Playing Tennessee would be a REAL test to start off the season. Women's PJAM Tournaments That's cool to get a shot in that tournament. That alone can bulk-up the non-conference resume.
I remember when ISU MBB frequently got invites to early-season tournaments. -
